I think this can tell you what Ferrari went with the turbo 8 vs the NA V12. And it hurts me to say this as I love the V12.

It also makes me wonder, how can the Lamborghini be 400 (? is that right, I am going from memory) lbs heavier than the Ferrari here. Doesnt the Lamborghini use a carbon tub? I don't buy that it's a V12 vs V8, because the V8 here is turbo charged, with all the extra plumbing and bits needed for that.

The Lamborghini does sound great though and I like the looks of both cars.

Both look great / extremely fast.
Five years later Lambo's slower - that's crazy.

The difference is in the weight; the Lambo is quite a bit heavier. That N/A V12 is actually more powerful.

That’s the point isn’t it? They went with the V8 because it is smaller and lighter and needs less ‘car’ around it. The Revuelto is big, heavy, small inside - suffering from the Lambo V12 packaging issue (needs to have the gearbox between the passengers because the V12 is so long). Carbon tub v aluminium tub is not, in reality, that much of a weight saving, as has been debated on fchat several times. The Lambo is over 4,000lbs! Having said that, I saw Chris Harris’s video on the current M2. “If it feels and drives light, the actual weight doesn’t really matter”.

Actually the Revuelto's gearbox is behind the engine, unlike in previous Lambo V12s. The space between the passengers is used for the battery cells now. But I totally get the point. :)

5 years later the tractor boys are still catching up. They'll be some head scratching at focus groups amongst the engineers. Didn't they have a SF90 at their factory to take apart and benchmark?

Super lame. Why are we dragging these cars? Tesla Plaid will smoke both. If you feel the need to hang off on raw speed at least do track times. These cars are ugly and bloated. Are they even fun to drive? This video proves nothing.

Well, no real car guy with enough financial resources to buy a SF90 or Rev would choose a Tesla Plaid instead. That said, the SF90 is gorgeous and amazing. As far as the video, it proves the SF90 is faster than the Revuelto in a drag race.

    What Ferrari do you drive?

I'm guessing the heavy pigs are both significantly faster than your car!

Yes I agree with you that no one cross shops a SF90 or Rev with a Tesla. My point was that the drag race is obsolete and doesn't really prove anything. That is, if you are concerned with drag times buy a Tesla. If not, then don't fret if your car is slower or faster by a milisecond from another car. Especially if you are never going to track them. Buy a car that's fun to drive. (I drive a 458, F12, Evo). I have never driven an SF90 so I cannot speak to how fun it is to drive. What I have read is that it does too much for you but I cannot speak to that. I am glad to hear you believe its amazing. As for gorgeous I have to disagree. It's a bit of a mess frankly.

Define fast though. Straight line speed only? Track times? Also, I track my cars and the driver is much more important. I've lapped cars "faster" than mine and been lapped by cars "slower" than mine (yes minicoopers and miatas)

if you knew anything about the SF90, you’d realize it’s one of the fastest cars around a road course you can buy. It’s actually set production lap records on a few tracks.

As far as fun to drive, I’ve never driven a F12, but I have driven a 458, and my SF90 is far more to drive than that (458 does sound better, though). I guess it just comes down to what you define as “fun”.

I am curious, however, why are you in an SF90 forum posting about a car that you’ve never owned, admittedly do not have any personal experience with, and seem to dislike? What exactly is your agenda?

Glad to hear the SF90 is fun to drive!

I post on all types of sub-forums here. There's no rule you have to be an owner to post. I stroll through threads looking for interesting topics. The OP posted a video and wrote: "2 heavy pigs race each other" so I responded to that. I am not trying to talk negative about the SF90 but rather had criticism for the obsession with drag times. My point is that the hang off on drag times is silly because 1) it's meaningless (like you state SF90 is really meant for a road course) and 2) the times are not even as fast as a $100k car. Let me know if you have any follow up questions.

You keep bringing up the Plaid. It’s a very boring EV. Boring in a straight line, around a road course, and literally everywhere else. My 1,400hp TT Huracan was far faster than any Plaid, and far faster than my SF90, yet I wouldn’t replace my SF90 with another one, and I wouldn’t take a Plaid even if one were given to me for free (outside of immediately selling it).

There are lots of faster cars out there, so bringing up the Plaid is a pointless argument when talking to someone who has zero interest in them.

Yes the cars are ugly. You answered the question that they are fun to drive. Thank you for that.

I know you are relatively new here but no name calling! tsk tsk!

I’m confident they are both more aesthetically appealing than any Ferrari you own. I’m also sure they’ll both seriously outperform any Ferrari you own.

We’ve had a number of trolls like you come into this forum (as well as the 296 forum), to try badmouth the cars. It clearly stems from some odd, childish insecurity issues that you guys have. Otherwise, you wouldn’t be posting any of the things you’re posting. Regardless of the reason, you’re definitely a troll and everyone in this thread reading your posts knows it.

I am glad to hear you are happy with the looks of SF90. You are correct that an SF90 outperforms any Ferrari I own. I also have odd, childish insecurities. Not about cars but in general.
