Does anyone have any input on the shade difference between Nuovo Giallo Fly 20-Y-348 and 20-Y-490 paint?

I know in the Giallo color there is a pale yellow and a more "orange" or deeper yellow. Looking for the "deeper" shade.

    It's for a "77 GTB.

    Thanks

As far as I know...I'm knowledgeable, but no expert on the matter, so have this confirmed by someone who has a yellow '77 still with the original paint label under the hood...

The "trade name" of the color 20-Y-348 is NOT "Nuovo Giallo Fly", but "Giallo Dino"; it was not available for the 308 GTB/GTS, but was available for the 308GT4 (of course, you could not disregard a "special order" that would have brought this color on a GTB, but nevertheless it was not readily offered "standard" for the "two-seaters")

20-Y490 is indeed "Nuovo Giallo Fly", and was the "yellow" offered on catalogue for 308 GTB/GTSs.

    Thanks.

Do you know if the 348 is a "deeper" shade than the 490?

Can someone post photos of both shades so we can see the difference?

After spending quite a bit of time at the local Glasurit supplier, this is what I have found.

Glasurit has 2 formulas for 20Y490 and 1 for 20Y348

    FERRARI 20Y348 GIALLO DINO 1975-1979
    FERRARI 20Y490 NUOVO GIALLO 1969-1974
    FERRARI 20Y490 AVORIO GIALLO 1974-1981

NUOVO GIALLO is the "deepest" and GIALLO DINO is the "most pale"

You can see the formulas by going to https://coloronline.glasurit.com/index.php Input code, select START SEARCH, select COLOR NAME, select PAINT LINE, select NEXT

I am going with FERRARI 20Y490 NUOVO GIALLO 1969-1974 in the 55 Line Image Unavailable, Please Login

    I'm a tad confused here...
The original paint manufactured for the 308s in the seventies was not Glasurit, but Glidden-Salchi; Glasurit came with the eighties, then was in turn replaced mid-1998.
So their offering is an equivalent of the original Glidden-Salchi shades, if I understand you correctly?

Thanks Tommy! A little late to the party though :)

Do you know the codes for each color depicted?

    No, Sorry.

I took that picture in the Ferrari Museum in Maranello last June. When I saw this I thought I would post it just for the hell of it.

Is that a custom rear valence panel above the exhaust outlets?

Yes. I made it out of some stainless steel I had laying around.

The car has a Euro GT4 muffler with the inner glass-pack removed on it. No cats, straight from headers to muffler. The tips angle up a lot more than the original muffler so the original "bird cage" doesn't fit.

Plus I like the look much better!
