Here are some pics that I took at the last GP. As you can see I managed to get really close to the action. Please enjoy. I'm glad that you guys like my pics, not exactly the usual ones that you could see from magazines or press releases. Yes, you can guess that to take the shots you need to be close to the team, drivers and executives. Oh, here's one of me and another trophy, the funny thing was that it was taken by the driver that won the race. The short conversation went like this, ME, "Hey, I need a picture of your trophy, I'll hold it and you take the shot" DRIVER, "OK, no problem but that's a first, are you sure you don't want one of me holding it?" Amazing pictures!! I once did that camera trick on David Coulthard, although the reason I did it is that I don't like him! I saw him in the paddock at Barcelona a couple of years ago. ME: "Hey David, any chance of a picture with my wife?" DC (looks at my wife): "Yeah, no problem." I hand him the camera, put my arm around my wife and smile! To be fair to the man he did take it in good humour and I did then take a picture of him with my wife. Theera, tell us the story of your weekend then. Who did you meet? Where were you for the race? etc etc.
It's obvious that you share the same type of humour as I do. The weekend GP experience started as soon as I got on the plane, with non stop Champagne all the way to Shanghai. Managed to get off the plane safely and pass imigrations without causing any serious embarrassment. Unfortunately, got to the St. Regis where the team was staying to find out that my pit-passes weren't there. Proceeded to my room and started to make a desperate phone call. Luckily later that day the pit-passes were delivered to my room with a funny note "oops, thought that you weren't coming". Anyway, got to meet plenty of very interesting people and it was nice to watch the race from the pit. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Awesome photo! It's very hard to find closeup pictures of the full cockpit like that. If you have a larger version of that photo, could you please send it to my Email address? Thanks.
Theera, wonderful, thanks a lot. You are a real gent to share your awesome great & rare pics with us.
Wolfgang put it a lot better than I did. Sorry if my post seemed a little abrupt. I'd still like to know more detail though about who you met and where you went etc!
Put it this way, went everywhere that's important and met everybody that's part of the exclusive "F1 fraternity", Ha Ha Ha.
