I was fighting with carb calibration on a set of Webers which sat for 4 - 5 yrs. When I smelled stale gas, I knew there was going to be trouble!

I cleaned it sooo carefully and thoroughly. I flushed WD thru all of the passages, and confirmed there was flow. Put the carb back on the car 4 times :( Still would not tune! I was thinking internal crack, some goofy defect, buy a new carb. On and on etc.

I discovered Paul at Performance Oriented searching the web. He's a triple throat Weber specialist. Paull is a Mechanical Engineer who knows these units well. He said, "send it to him, and let him take a look". That was the right decision!! :) He pulled many of the lead plugs, and found the debris where carb cleaner would never get. Too many places for air pockets etc. I pulled a few of the plugs with no obvious occlusion. The weird part was WD seemed to get through ALL of the passages fine? Also, I wasn't very comfortable removing the plugs 'cause I wanted it to look original.

Paul cleaned and reamed the passages, and did a perfect job restoring the lead plugs. It was almost spooky to reinstall the same carb, and have it work again.

I hope this helps some Ferrari folk battling carb issues.
