wow thats pretty crazy stuff

 

Years ago, my girlfriend and I were up at Mammoth Mountain. I was driving a '78 Chevrolet Caprice back then and at night, we'd find a really dark spot on the mountain to park, spread a blanket over the hood and sit on it while leaning back on the windshield. (The hood provided plenty of warmth.) We would stare up at the immense number of stars that form the Milky Way which cannot be seen with city lights around.

With the altitutude and clean air, we'd be able to see satelites cross the sky. We'd see objects move across the sky in a very linear fashion. But one satellite moved across the sky, then STOPPED. I mean, stopped right in it's trajectory - then after what seemed like 5 seconds, it sped away a VERY high speed at 90 degrees to its original trajectory.

Don't know what it was. Girlfriend saw it too. UFO? Space debris? Government satellite? I doubt that it's space debris because this object definitely stopped in it's trajectory and sped away at VERY high speed as to be out of view within 1 second. That's A LOT of sky to cover in 1 second. To this day I don't know what I saw...
