Al Sharpton joins a KFC boycott. NEW YORK (Feb. 5) - The Rev. Al Sharpton has joined PETA in calling for a boycott of fast-food chain KFC, in a new TV and radio campaign. Sharpton is urging the black community to join the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals' boycott of the franchise, the animal protection group announced Thursday. "If KFC wants to take our money and use it to pay for sloppy practices that hurt animals, I say we send them a message that this is not going to happen," Sharpton says in the ad. Sharpton and PETA are seeking improvements to KFC's practices regarding the defeathering and debeaking of chickens, as well as a halt to using growth-promoting drugs. He loses all credibility for caring of animals by saying he's reaching out to all the black communities to join PETA. He has more of a problem with the stereotype that blacks like fried chicken. **** PETA! and **** Sharpton, both wastes of space and continually cause problems. Over the years whenever Jackson has done one of his corporate shakedowns Sharpton usually shows up looking for his cut. So I decided to check out if Jackson ever went after KFC and found this. "Jackson signed a similar agreement with Heublein, owner of Kentucky Fried Chicken. The company pledged to spend $360 million with black banks and advertising agencies and to expand its minority-owned franchises. Heublein also agreed to contribute to Jackson nonprofits and gave Jacksons half-brother Noah Robinson a KFC franchise. Robinson was later convicted of racketeering, drug trafficking and murder-by-hire."

I do understand how these fellows perpetuate their notoriety; however, I am perplexed as to how they initially achieved any FORMATIVE substance from which to pollute capitalism with. I can only imagine what folks like Ken Chenault, Condi Rice and Colin Powell think about these thugs using their collective ethnicity as a pathetically weak bargaining chip.
