Please tell me they are hand washing the car! Try to avoid a regular car wash machine... Good luck with the car- the 599 is an amazing car....really amazing. Big f-up on the dealer (you couldn't even drive the car with no temp tag- the first thing someone wants to do when taking delivery of their lifelong dream car- plus the condition of the car on arrival and missing key at this price point (or any price point) pretty poor customer service). In fact this was the complete opposite exprience I had buying the car though Premier Sportscars in Springfield, MO- my then-9 year old 360 arrived looking better than new- best detail job I've seen on a car! Don't let this spoil owning one of the most amazing sports/GT cars on the road- you will love it and be checking your garage before going to bed at night in disbelief Looking forward to seeing it at the C&C! -Andrew
Congratulations! You will really enjoy the 599, its such a versatile car, one moment you can be cruising around the next the V12 filling the cabin with "music" and rocketing you towards the horizon. Put simply the 599 is a modern Daytona.
So I rushed home from work and went out for a ride tonight. Two things popped up as soon as I started her up. Tire Pressure Low Fuel level low Oh boy....So first I drove very slowly to a local firestone to get all of the tires filled with air, and then to a gas station. I called the dealer and asked how much gas they send their cars with, and the answer was a full tank. They'll be getting the bill for that as well ;-) First Impressions: Simply stunning fast shifting and acceleration! I didnt even realize how fast I was going in some instances. The car seems to jump right to 60mph when you push the throttle! The shifting was not as smooth as the Maserati, but was a nice feeling. There was a jerk back with every upshift. I have to get used to the paddles, but it was pretty easy. I have to get used to reversing when on a downward slope! It was scary as the car moved forward when I was trying to reverse! Unfortunately I was driving around at 5pm so the roads were packed, and I couldnt get her above 60mph. I will have her detailed next week. The interior has what looks like boot marks where someone stood on the seats. A simple microfiber towel didnt remove them. I also plan on having the valuves opened to get that nice exhaust note. I cant think of anything but going out for a drive now... Here are pics of her after being washed. Rosso Corsa just works SO well! Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login

DocJ, Light those 5 lights up on the wheel then shift,lol...As far as the valves they will stay open all the time all you have to do is remove the vacuum lines from each muffler solenoid and plug them(took about 10 minutes)..I also had the secondary cats removed and replaced with straight pipes so now it really sings when you put your foot in it. Hope you get it all cleaned up to your satisfaction..I would really *****-slap your dealer for sending the car in that condition.. Kevin
Got ya, Here is what mine came in thru rain and snow, (so big, had to pick it up at my sons house I live in the hills) and when she came off perfect ! I paid and this did cost a little more. But it's all over now, so don't forget lots of pics after the detail . Once again Congrats and enjoy ! Bill Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
First of all: congrats on you beauty! I noticed in the other thread that your GranTurismo S was the Automatica and not the MC-shift version. Therefore, it had a torque converter. The 599's gearbox is very similar to the MC-Shift's gearbox (it's an automated manual box) and it cannot be compared an auto box with torque converter. You mention being pushed back during up-shifts. If you're driving the car hard, that's a pleasurable/involving part of the experience IMO. If you're driving calmly, then you can simply feather the throttle during up-shifts and make them perfectly smooth. FWIW, personally, I would not change the 599's gearbox for one of those double clutch boxes even if they paid me In any case, I'm sure that you'll absolutely love the 599. It's a magnificent Ferrari that gets better and better as you keep accumulating thousands of miles
Sounds like a blessing - minus the condition in which it was received. Can you tell us the serial number?
