It's now been about 1 year since Fernando at Competizione rebuilt the engine, top to bottom. Took the car back in last week for annual fluids changes and flush, throttle position sensor, power steering reservoir, and another 02 sensor. Life is fantastic, screams to red line, small bit of tire spin in second, sooo much fun!!

The O2 sensors keep going bad as the cats have been hollowed out and the by-pass valve was removed by the prior owner. Fernando's explanation of this is at lower RPMs the flow is up thru the bypass and not enough exhaust is going over the rear sensor. This creating a rich condition and on and on we go toward another bad sensor and other issues. To help elevate this it was suggested to put back in a by-pass valve (Capristo). It is now on order. I can not extol how happy I am with Richard and Fernando in the way they both treat me and my baby. Thank you gentlemen for you excellent work and love for these marvelous vehicles.

Im presently debating on wiring open my Valve, and I have a 99 355 with Cappy-3

Hopefully this will not damage my Cats due to increased exhaust flow

Very refreshing compared to all the problem threads we read. I've said it before but there are not enough success stories posted on the 355. It seems like all we hear is the bad and that is a shame...

I saw your girl up on the lift when I was checking on my GTS the other day. Glad to hear she's running well.

Been 1.5yrs and 4,000 glorious smiles since I've had any problems.

She is getting her fluids changed today, getting detailed, and sitting under her car over until her new owner comes to pick her up. ;)

I'm glad for you... I remember the sinking feeling I had reading your rebuild thread as it was obvious you were torn at first about which direction to go. It's great to hear the good news.

    Cheers!
