EVENTS: Shelby Club Show set for Sept. 18th in El Segundo

The annual gathering of Shelby Mustang , Cobra and GT40 fans is scheduled for Sept. 18th, 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM at the re-named Zimmerman Automobile Driving Museum (it used to be the Automobile Driving Museum), 610 Lairport St, El Segundo, CA 90245.
The sponsoring club is the Los Angeles chapter of the Shelby American Automobile Club, a club which has done a lot to preserve Shelby history.
The Museum is right off Sepulveda, the main road that goes to LAX airport.
The event is called the Tony Sousa Memorial Car Show in honor of a former Los Angeles chapter Shelby Club secretary who organized many events. Coincidentally the event is a mere 3/4 mile south-east of where the 1965 thru 1967 ShelbyG.T. 350 / G.T. 500s were built, at LAX. Besides the cars to look at, there will be a beautiful event t-shirt included with each paid vehicle registration! Those with appropriate cars --Shelbys, Cobras, Mustangs and Shelby- inspired cars are welcome. It's a family affair and food vendors will be onsite. The event takes place on a side street and there's plenty of no-cost parking. Visitors can can enter their car in a judged show and prizes will be awarded in the form of 1st & 2nd place trophies for all classes. The event is limited to the first 100 cars that register.
Guests of Honor this year will be former Shelby American Team members, Charlie and Kerry Agapiou. Both Charlie and Kerry were mechanics at Shelby American.
Charlie was portrayed in the movie, Ford v. Ferrari. Charlie was Ken Miles' crew chief for the 1966 Le Mans race. Shelby American photographer, Dave Friedman, will also be attending. Dave will be bringing his new book, Ken Miles: The Shelby American Years. Mile was the irascible British race driver who politically got Shelby in trouble by being outspoken but won races.
Shelby memorabilia will be for sale ,
There is online registration for those entering their cars: https://www.lashelbyclub.com/events/16th-annual-tony-sousa-memorial-car-show-1?utm_campaign=dc4f44bd-d1ab-4eec-b12b-32671d5615f8&utm_medium=mail&utm_source=so&cid=c4bda451-2712-42a4-ae34-b2ed604492f2
