I"ve spent the past three years as an SCCA corner worker learning what I could and I've decided to try Spec Pinata. (Spec Miata) Granted, I can run a faster lap time around Road America in my Mondial, but the allure of real competition just keeps knocking on the door. To be truthful my experience with this Mondial has been about 99.9% babying it and making improvements for the concours judging, so I guess now I'd like to see what else I could do in a real track car..albeit all I can afford is a slower track car...but the competition seems close and I hope to learn a lot. I've had a real problem convincing myself to sell this car, as I've put a TON of time a money into it, and my girls love it and as a family we've really enjoyed it a lot. However, after wining the Coppa GT the wife and kids are asking me what's next as a driver and I tend to agree with them...if this is my hobby let's see where we can take it. So for a regular guy like me it means selling car number one and moving on to car number two...and crossing your fingers that you're making the right choice!

    Racing is life...

...and a pic of me during SCCA year. Regional driver's championships, set fastest track lap record in another 'HPDE' competition club and WITHOUT A DOUBT the most fun i ever had with my cloths on is so very true. Medium to hard rain in the FC was perhaps the most scary and most rewarding and exhilarating thing ever done in my life (perhaps excluding free soloing rock climbing yet very close and the racing action happens much faster/more condensed than solo climbing).

People often say that a boat is a hole in the water you throw money into------------------------------------ If you want to be competitive "you ain't seen nothing yet!
Don't ask how I know ---------------I don't have the time to write a novel but in retrospect I would do it all over again-------------- The rush ,for me, can't be replaced by any other activity. Go for it! lost
