Made it to the mechanic today to pull the rest of the sticky parts off the inside of my car. Removed the puffy plastic shields off the fenders and then Washed and waxed the finish.

I have been trying to gather all the OEM bits and pieces, so that I can enjoy the car with my preferences but also quickly and easily swap back out to the original car delivered from the factory.

The puffy plastic shields put on by the previous owner had faded a bit and had outstayed their welcome.

Paint was fantastic underneath with no issues or fading. I continue to be overwhelmed by how pretty the car is... Life is good.

    I think you are right!

I love the factory indented shields on the cars. But since my car wasn't ordered with those, I'll stick with the clean look it came with.

Someone should really perfect the process to add indentations without chipping the paint. Kind of a reverse dent-wizard....

What's with the gloves? Is every new mechanic afraid to get their hands dirty? ;)

PS, my 95 had the same crap shields - no heat was needed to remove them.

x2. Not that much anyway! I would be happy with embossing the fender without warping the hell out of it. Saving the paint, zero chance.

Nice Robb, looks so much better without those tacky 'auto store special' looking shields (IMHO)

Those were horrible looking shields! Thank heavens you removed them. They looked like cheap gas station jobbies!

Even though I love the look of shields on a 355 (mine are Yoshi), I gotta admit that they don't look quite as striking on a yellow car. Combine that with the, "puffy-look", shields and I think you definitely did the right thing there Robb.

Now if you could only find a photographer who could take decent shots on a cloudy day...

    Love ya buddy, Henry

    Yes.

I agree. The plastic puffy shields were on the car long ago. They look better on a tool box I think. I have a set of Yoshi shields which are VERY nice, but I think I will keep the car clean. I like how the cars looked in '95 in the initial brochure and press releases. No shields there.

Ya, the yoshis are nice.......but if the fendrs are not the true indented fenders....they all just look like a cheap stick on.
