I just took delivery of a beautiful 1990 TR with 12k miles from Ferrari of Austin,Tx. Had Horseless Carriage bring it to my home in N.J....One question..It has shields. They are like the ones on the 360 that I sold. They look very nice, but are not stock. Will I have points taken away at Ferrari shows? Everything else on the car is stock except for the chrome horse on the back grill.

Yes, you'll lose points for both (I don't know how many are typically deducted for these changes but the maximum (according to FCA judging sheets) is 2 points. There are some judges in this forum, maybe they can shed some light. Attached is a spreadsheet I built based on documentation on the FCA website that may help you understand deductions.

    Nick,
Congrats and welcome to TR heaven. So you sold a recent 360 for an old car like a TR...What happened to you? :)
Can you talk a little about that decision?

1/2 for the chrome on the rear and prob a 1/2 for the shields. If the judge is really offended by them maybe a full point. Judges tend to be more of the purist variety so I bet most will take a full point come to think of it.
And when that happens they tend to be more critical of everything.

The chrome horsie in the front is another 1/2.

Do you really need to work that hard at telling people it is a Ferrari? It was built with 6 horsies, does it really need 9?
