I drive a 550. There is no chrome left on my shift knob. I wear no rings on my right hand. Has anyone else had this problem with his car? 12 cylinders or walk
Thats what you get with big sweaty mitts like yours. All depends on how many miles on your car? If you 'rest' your hand on the shifter at all times ect......ect.....
I have an aluminum knob on my 328 that's the same size as the 550 knob. I've driven 10k+ plus miles and there's not a scratch on it, it looks just like it did they day I installed it. Maybe you can find an aluminum replacement?
I have less than 20,000km and my shift knob looks awful - chrome has flaked off and once again no rings on right hand. My guess - its poor finishing.
No rings here too, I have it re-cromed (whatever that means) 2nd time on 15k miles. I think they have messed up on the second one because it does not look bright enough, no meter how i polish it (clean dry towel) t looks grainy, thinking about sanding it, but i guess it wont match the look of the gates. What to do.. Try carbon knobs for F430?
hill engineering They're a sponsor here. Here'e the link for thier 360 knob. http://www.hillengineering.co.uk/catalog/gn03-p-221.html?osCsid=b21c75aec9d58d6bcd561954c24ae1dc I think you can also get these from Daniel at www.RicambiAmerica.com
