Anyone experience this before. Lately, until the car( 348 ts ) warms up, the 1st and sometimes 2nd gears grinds going in ( like clutch is not depressed ), or is difficult to even go in. Not set pattern. Different each time. When the car and transmission is warm, everything is fine. Clutch? Tranny? Thanks
ps..car has 11k now, last service, including clutch was 7500...

avoid 2nd until the car is warm...should be in the owners manual. You car sounds fine. The gear box in the 348 is known for this.

I got that all of the time when I was driving with the OEM tranny fluid. That went away completely when I went to Redline's tranny fluid ("70w90NS" and "superlight shockproof" both work wonders, but Redline has a product with a similar name "70w90" withOUT the "NS" at the end that does not solve the tough shifts when cold).

Also, if my Redline tranny fluid was 90% or less full, then the hard shifts would come back. Ditto for having tough shifts after I overfilled my tranny once.

But with the Redline tranny fluid more than 90% and less than 101% full, my shifts are golden. Smooth as butter, warm or cold.

I bought mine first here: http://www.racerpartswholesale.com/redline.htm until I found a local Honda dealership that carried all of the Redline products.

That on-line store has lousy customer service. The local Honda shop has a cute racer-chick, products in stock for today, and the same prices.

I had that and it was linkage adjustment or a rubber bushing - I forgot which. I used synthetic oil Red Line in the trans and it was always silky.
