    Dear all

A friend of mine owns a 360 F1 2000 reg (37.000 km - current at clutch 50%) . Last week , a hot day (temp arround 34οC ) we were driving on the trafic jam and two times the Car (stopped on the trafic light) refused to shift from Neutral to First gear. Each time after 3-4 minutes of switch off the engine the gear BOX started to function normally. Does this has to do with the trafic jam and High exterior temperatures? Could be any sensor fail? more chances to be an ellectronic or mechanical problem?

    Thx in advance

Almost certainly overheated clutch from the traffic jam

Did the driver crawl along with the traffic or let a gap open then fill it ? If the former then that is likely the cause and the latter is the solution

He let a gap. (in order to extend clutch life he drives always like this).

In any case this is not the only 360 forced from time to time to drive in the traffic jam.

So is this a problem that occured to other members also or not ? and if yes , under which conditions?

Should I advice my friend ...to be prepared to Live with this the rest of his (common with 360 ) life?

    Need serious help.
I do lots of DIY. Rebuilt the 360 from serious interior fire damage. New Dash wiring harness is heater AC instruments etc.

After I got it put back together I got to see if the engine was going to run. It ran great and still runs great.
The issue I had is that when you shift second third fourth it would crunch. However when it was cold it shifted perfect. If I was very careful with holding steady RPM I could avoid or minimize crunch
I had the dealer flush the F1 fluid system. Did not help.
I had an independent grue check it he said it was the synchronizer's.

I have a replacement gearbox and a rebuilt clutch ready to go. But I did not want to take the car completely apart to put it in I enjoy driving it.

I decided to experiment with different gearbox Gear oil.

My latest was to use redline super light shock proof. The car now shifts perfect. However after driving for a while and the gear oil heats up to normal the car will drop out of the six gear with the number six flashing on the readout. If I paddle shift into neutral I can then tap the break and shift back into six gear and continue on.

I have tried several ECU boards throughout this whole process no change This is a manual transmission something is telling this guy to shift out of six gear while I'm driving down the road. Something is actuating my clutch and taking the car out of gear.
I have changed the accumulator. I have data saying that my clutch is about 75% good and I never had any issues other than the crunch before I changed the gear oil.

What could possibly be telling the EC to actuate the clutch to get out of gear?

    Please help
