I decided to put my gts up on my lift last night. I was able to inspect the entire underside and suspension. Everything looking kosher down there, no leaks from the motor or gearbox.

One thing that was bothering me was the 6 speed shifter linkage. I noticed the shifter was off alignment very slightly in the gate and just had a notchy feel overall(probably from the 2014 engine out). Coming from an F1 car previously I have had no experience with the manual, just test drove a few in the past.

I saw the adjuster rod down there and started toying with the adjustment, knowing nothing about it. First I went too far and lost gears 5 and 6 in the selection, then I backed the adjustment rod very slightly and got it perfectly in line now. Took a few tries but it went well! Its amazing what a little adjustment can do, the trans literally slides right into gear now, before some of the gears selections had resistance. All gone!

I suggest anybody having tight shifting, or just a general baulking feeling in the assembly adjust their unit it really helps. While in there I verified transmission fluid level again. Swepco fluid was used nice blue color! Right in the middle of line between min/max.

Great to see you did this.

I lost reverse when it was first adjusted. But after realizing that, it was a quick fix to get it perfect.

Makes all the difference in the world to the enjoyment of the gated experience.

Haha, funny you said that, because first I went too far and got the opposite as you.

Its nice to see the gated shifter lever align perfectly with the notches in the gate, before it never came close to contact with the bottom gates. Little adjustments like this really help with drive ability.

Next I will tackle the e-brake adjustment, they never hold firmly in all ferrari's/aston's I have owned (fly-off handbrakes), but I will try to adjust it out a bit more and see what I can gain. I always leave the cars in gear, f1, or stick!

Thanks for the post. Just for curiousity, do you have a two post lift? If so, do you find it easier to back the car into the lift? I have a Rotary asym 2 post and when I put it on the lift, I wasn't thrilled about it being so tail weighted, and decided not to go up. I saw some posts where people back the car in, so the short arms are to the rear of the car.

No problem, I have a bend pak:

BendPak MD-6XP Mid Rise Lift, 6,000 Lb. Capacity, Portable

I drive the car a little more forward than a front engine and it is extremely stable.

I think some people have written about the adjustment procedure I just did mine with no instructions its a simple linkage like a tie rod end adjustment.
