Hello, Some months ago I change my gearbox oil from 75w90 to 75w140 (castrol API GL5). Since a few months, I have more difficulties to shift, particulary from 3rd to the 4th .. and 5th in full load Actualy the outside temp are going down (10°) and shifting is more and more difficult ... I need 20km to bring the gearbos at right temperature ... When everything is at temp, shifting is ok ... Is my theory correct If I say that the best way is to change the gearbox oil to Agip 75w90 SX/S ?? What I don't understant is that the winter level is at the same on the two oils (at 75) so normaly we may see no differences ... Or is it a problem comming from clutch ?
What possessed you to put in 75-140? Especially in cold weather? The manuals have all that information in them for some very good reasons. Best to follow them unless they prove themselves wrong. The Agip you reference would be a good choice.
I just put in Redline as well last week. I want to say it made a positive difference but that might be just in my head.
I also have in my gearbox castrol 75 W 140, LS and only have good experiences. temperature not going as high as before and in cold condition better shifting. hope for you that the diff will not start breaking, because when this starts you may have the same problems when shifting redline I have not seen until now in europe. here we know wynns and liqui moly
As you probably know, the clutch and brake fluid uses the same reservoir. My clutch fluid was black...It took about half a pint for it to become clear.
