The top to my GTS has shiny areas where the seat backs rub the cover against the top when it is stored behind the seats. Has anybody figured out a safe way to 'dull' these areas so they look like the rest of the top? Regards, Kerry
This is a targa top, not a cloth one. The top material is some plastic or vinyl, so redye how? Regards, Kerry
Kerry: Believe it or not, the 308 targa top is actually painted fiberglass, although it looks much like vinyl. The problem you have is a good reason to store the outside of the top facing toward the back of the car it gives you more room to move the seats back and reduces rubbing. On mine, rather than using the stock top cover (which I dont have and refuse to spend $575 to get), I just drape a new black bath towel over the bulkhead behind the seats, run a length of 1 black webbing through the upper seat belt anchors to secure the top, and fasten it with a couple of strips of Velcro sewn on the webbing.
Thanks for the post. I already have this from Griot's. I noticed a light spot so I am going to try this on my top.
