Anyone recommend a company that can ship an everyday car from the US to Canada?
I'd still do TFX. http://www.tfxinternational.com/ I believe their rates for cars that are non exotics are cheaper but I could be wrong.
Good day Tony, I have called a few companies: LHansen Forwarding (http://www.lhf.com) SeaRail.ca (now www.livingstonintl.com) Dependable Auto Shippers (http://www.dasautoshippers.com) I have not used the above for shipping from US to Canada, but have used L hansen across Canada (for a BMW) and was pleased with the experience. Pricing varies a lot and where I am at (Edmonton) I found that the average transport price from US to Edmonton to be around $2K USD... assuming the vehicle is running/drivable (so that they can load onto the transport rig). If the vehicle is not running/drivable, then the cost can go up big time. Also, you can try www.uship.com and place an ad (free) for desired shipping. Then companies can submit their shipping bids to you and you can decide which one you wish. That being said, you should check out the respective companies to ensure you get a quality transport firm... Cheers, Sam
I have religeously used LHF (Hansens) and Searail/Livingston freight for YEARS! They are both good. Searail has had friendlier service and generally cheaper so ive been using them more lately. I am sending a Jag to Newfoundland next week most likely through them. However, I am going to call a few different guys Monday. I was told about Pinder Transport is good and also Mackie. TFX to me is who id defiently use (and weve talked about this many times here) for the higher end stuff. For the lower priced cars I generally sell it doesnt really make sense to call these guys. But when i do, I will call..
then of course there is this guy... http://jalopnik.com/#!5736628/tunisians-use-forklift-to-steal-deposed-leaders-ferrari
Hansens is good for regular cars. They will ship door to door. They can be lond to pick up. I dont like their customs broker so you should get your own.
TFX is cheaper than Hansens from many places in the USA. TFX charges the same for normal cars as they do for exotics. They treat every car like it is an FXX. Not trying to advertise just clarify. Cheers.
How about within Canada? I just sent a Jag to St. Mary Newfoundland as stated below. Id like to compare so I can call you guys next time. Also, do you guys take care of customs from and to US?
