I have a 2016 488 GTB with no front lift option. While searching for shock absorbers with no lift, I came across these listings and photos that confused me about the shock absorbers of the 488 with no lift option.

Part number 317750 (the one with no lift option) looks like the photo of an item on ebay. And then the rear shock absorber part number 317751 is also attached ( the one from scuderiacarparts ).

Why do they look exactly the same parts? Does this mean the 488 with no lift option has the same front and rear shock absorbers? Or they just look the similar but perform differently?

It's been a while since I lowered my 458, but as I remember the front and rear coilovers looked almost identical. The valving between the two part numbers might be different is all.

I do a lot of ride height adjustments and the shocks are the same dimensionally front to back. I am sure the valving is different though.
I would think the lift shock and non lift shock are similar but the spring seat ring is lower on the lift shock to allow for the height of the lift cylinder.
I have added a lift system to a couple cars and the screw adjuster is removed on the shock with the aftermarket lift kit.

Thanks for the information , I just wondered and now I am enlightened that they just look similar. I was kind of shocked that they looked the same and figured something was wrong if they were just the same (front and rear) in terms of performance and valving. That would have been insane if they performed exactly the same, coming from a brand like Ferrari.
