I've got an unusual problem that I'm having a hard time tackling. My suspension light came on in my car after it was transported to California. It's done this before when the key is turned on and off too many times without starting and also when its sat for a couple of months over the winter. Previously, I've been able to remove the actuators and things would go back to working order. This time I took the shock actuators off, checked the actuator gears, checked the shock gears, popped them back on (everything was OK). No suspension light but after I drive the car for an hour or two, the light comes back on. I repeated the steps above and had exactly the same results, no light for an hour or two and then back on. Anyone have any suggestions?

I'm going to pull the actuators again, check to make sure each one is completely cycling but not sure what else I can do beyond that. Is there any type of lubrication I should be doing either in the actuator or the shock?

Its electrical connection. I had that for a bit and you can literally jsut give it a bit of a wiggle and the problem goes away.

Monte- Check with Dave Helms and see if his new Scuderia Rampante connector sets include a set for the shock actuators. His are pretty much corrosion-proof.

With the actuator motor removed, one needs to check the little gear on the shock only rotates 90° at both extremes of rotation. If the gear spins all the way around, it will trigger the suspension light.

I have seen these gears lose/shear their 'built in' stops and gear teeth will appear fine to the eye. Spin them by hand to make sure they are limited properly.

+1. You need to inspect the gear very closely for damage. At first glance they can look "okay". I had one that looked alright, but Ferrari of Seattle gave me the SD1 print out showing I had an issue in the right rear...I looked again, very closely and sure enough the gear was messed up around the lower section...replaced the gear, and all is well.
