Well I was rolling into work today and over at 249 and Louetta the corner Shell station was totally coned off, with camera crews buzzing all around.....

I parked next door and stumbled in for some java, and there at the pump was a pristine red/tan 599GTB!

Risi Competition was handling the car and there was a trailer to the side with a Fast and Furious type Jap car......anyway I checked it out to see if Schumi was gonna pop out of the trailer, but no such luck!!!! LOL!

So that's my Spotter's Entry for today, but if anyone's on this side of Houston I'd imagine they'll be there awhile!
They had all kinds of screens and stuff they were setting up for the shoot.....

I guess I need a cell phone camera........

I'm a low tech guy, for someone working at HP....LOL!

My Ferraris are all carburated, after all...;)

To make matters even WORSE I was drinking from an older AGIP coffee mug!

If Schumi had been there, I would have been real embarressed to ask him to sign a Kevin Harvick NASCAR hat....ROTFLMAO!
That's all the marketing Shell does in the USA market.........

This was a box stock 599GTB....the 599Tour cars were much cooler! ;)

    LOL

I find this really stupid. When I was a project at Shell in 2001-2003, the intranet sites talked about Nascar and had some NASCAR mugs, t-shirts, etc for sale. Not a word about F1 and this was during the Ferrari domination era. Ridiculous!

.......and lights his house with candles.

I'm serious though I went in the store and was looking around for the Schumacher Display like in that European Shell Commercial!!!!

But I figured he would have been rolling in a nicer bus.........I was gonna get my arm around him, and take him over to the house and give him a nicer Scully Western Shirt, as the one he had on in the German Podium was a little wonky.....

He could help me with the misfire on the yellow car, maybe change some spark plugs....

You know just hang out and do Guy Stuff, that's what retirement's all about!!!!

Shell Europe actually wrote a book of it's long time involvement with Ferrari ..."Appunte de Storia" or something like that.. (Footnotes to History...rough translation). I searched for a copy for a long while but no one with the Company now had ever heard of it..

Then a friend working AutoCAD at Shell Brookhollow brought me a real find from one of the engineers, it was an actual copy of the 1967 advertisement of a cutaway drawing of the P4, along with the matching model of the P4 and the matching ball cap from the "Fueled by Passion" ad campaign.

I gave the hat to Napolis in New Orleans...he stuck it behind the seat of the blue Lola, I hope he remembered it.....LOL!

No offense meant there, good Doctor, I just meant for Ranch Duty, we'd like the aluminum skidplate option! LOL!

I want to take a ride in yours!

I could not get close to this one without getting into the Shoot, so I hung back with the Risi Technician.....and ogled the babes....;)

I just got off the phone with FoH, they gave STERN directives, no action shots, without putting down a check for the full $485K!!!

Yea, I'm sure the onboard engine management is OK with Kwikmart.....LOL!

I just wish Shell would carry some nice F1 hats, those '60th Year' ones from Ricambi were high dollar $$$$$!

I bought you one anyway, though......;)

Well, they were still there shooting at lunch. It's a marketing shoot for Shell Oil, which explains why Mr. Risi would loan out the car.

Sad part is the Shell Station has been closed all day....I think my cup of coffee and a camera were all she has sold!

So I took some pics for ya'll, I'll get them developed and post to the thread.

They were through with the 599GTB though, a rollback showed up and loaded it up as I watched and took pics...the cute lil' girl dealing with the car had an FChatter's name and phone number on the back of her paperwork...I notice little details like that..;)

Red/tan ...F1 gearbox, Challenge style wheels, red calipers, Daytona seats, CCF brakes.

    Man, sorry I missed you!

You could have gone with me to the Whataburger....LOL!

I bounce all around nowadays between HP, FOX Woodlands and my job in the Medical Center on Holcombe....

I'm homeless at home AND at work now, just traveling all around with my brain, a pad of paper and a pen.....

Yeah we are still in Guam, things are going good for us and we are taking advantage of things here. Beach, hiking and trying to figure out all the ways we can profit from the largest US military build-up of alltime. :)

How about you? Did you ever get a V12 F car yet?

Dr. Lee, it was actually optioned quite nicely with paddle shift, red calipers and the CCF brakes, did you get those brakes?

I think a replacement set of them costs more than my whole car.

I guess my spec would be considered a "base model" if I ordered yellow/black with steel discs and a six speed...

I heard rumor no 6 speeds for the USA, what did you spec?
