Hi, newbie here, first post. I bought he white 308GT4 in pieces off ebay a while ago and am getting ready to try and put it back together.

So the engine is out and I am trying to separate the transmission right now.

But for the actual engine rebuild, any recomendations would be appreciated. I thought of MAG but they don't impress me being a dealer, I have heard good things about Evans and Jack's shop. Any others, which is better? Will either or both use used parts?

    Thanks for the advice.

    Mike

Go to Jacks shop........STAY AWAY FROM EVANS. STAY FAR AWAY.......if you break down in Front of EVANS or in their driveway, have your car towed SOMEWHERE ELSE!

Nothing against Evans - never used them. But NJB did a fine job for me. Craig knows his stuff, and they detailed the engine bay while doing the major, to boot.

Their shop is across the street from Dennis's establishment. Craig used to be a mechanic at MAG, the official dealer. He's a very capable mechanic and very knowledgeable. Jack is a super guy who does the books and manages the front end. They've done good work on my 330 and are not afraid of saying "we can't do x, you'd better talk to Y about this work." Fine folks.
