    Nicely done...

I think if EVERY SINGLE 365 Gt4 2+2, 400, 400i and 412 owner put something on the web praising the car with really well done photos and positive reactions to the vehicle- you would see prices begin to climb very quickly.

Every guy who is suddenly struck by the elegance and beauty of this car- whether it's due to an ebay listing or a "Classics" car mag- does a google search, and they get the same crap you and i find- backhanded articles written by freelance auto journalists who slag the car without ever seeing one in person.

And rather than calling them "Least popular" (Longest running Ferrari body style) or unloved (412 prices still higher than 438s or most 308s) or slow and ungainly (Performance still on par or above 928s) we can simply note that their groundbreaking Pininfarina body style was co-opted by so many other car makers that it now looks pedestrian, much as Daytonas looked so bland in the late 80s after every single Japanese car maker stole the look... and look how that market rebounded.

We have a really good video production facility here so I'm going to see if i can put some good youtube stuff up this summer of my 400i and 412...

    Hello,

Finally something on the net about the 412 thats not an advert for one for sale.

Can you say Bruce Taylor and Alfa Romeo Montreal (another car on my list of must haves).

This enthusiast of the Alfa Romeo Montreal practically single handedly put this much unloved Alfa Romeo back on the planet and renewed its interest among alfaists and collectors. He created and manages a yahoo auto group forum specific to montreal, created the web site www.alfamontreal.info , and even wrote two books on the model. With all of that he brought owners across the globe together. The forum and web site aide potential new owners in buying one and old owners in keeping their cars on the road. This has generated interest in the model, new reviews and even renewed support from Alfa Romeo. It has brought owners together at auto shows further causing attentions to model. It is unbelievable the knowledge he has gained and shared. The time he has dedicated to this "hobby" is nothing short of amazing. His name is Bruce Taylor. Its easy to look him and the Montreal up.

So Sumlin what you have done is a positive start and what we need to see more of.

Jay, your idea of some new web videos this spring and trying to see about gathering common owners of the series together is a good idea. Owners of the model need to start "showing" their cars and the pride of ownership that goes along with it.

I've started my search for my own 365/400/412. Most of what I find on the net about these models are just ads for those which are for sale. There is almost nothing in the way of support, reviews, or just plain articles of owners and their cars like you find with other models and marks. There is nothing recent.

I guess I like to punish myself as I own a 1988 BMW M6, 1972 Triumph STAG, a 1993 Mazda RX7 and now am looking for a Alfa Romeo Montreal and Ferrari 412. Why?

For some reason I have always had an interest in the 412 series. Not sure why but I just love them. I don't care if others don't and if interest in them ever grows, I will own mine and enjoy it while others miss out.

    Regards

    Max
