Having just ordered the 25 mm rears and the 15 mm front spacers for my 348 I have this concern about handling issues. I am generally not an aggressive driver. I may push it some in a corner some but I will certainly not tend to try to push it to any limits for fear of loosing control. How will my 348 handle with these spacers for normal and occasional conservative aggressive driving? I have seen several negative comments on how a 348 handles with the 15 mm front spacers. I want the 15 mm front spacers for the look. They make the car look much more aggressive. I will sacrifice handling for looks.

15mm only in the front would indeed be a problem. 25 in the back, 15 in the front, gives you a net improvement of 10mm. A good thing.

I have run 25/15 on the track for several years with no problem.

Agree. I would not worry, just make sure the bolts on the type 2 spacers are torqued properly. Handling should be improved.

With the 15's in front, be mindful of turning sharpely until u r sure there is no contact with the fender lip.

I have the 25 spacer in the rear and no spacer at the front. It handles just fine.

Tuning the car just for the looks seems dangerous to me - it all looks good till it crashes into the wall ;)

Rodney, if you're not tracking the car or driving aggressively like you say...the spacers should be fine......Be sure to check clearances like Vince said so that nothing is hitting or rubbing at full steering lock and fully compressed suspension.......after installing make sure camber and toe haven't changed...shouldn't, but just check to make sure.

Same here. I had the 15 mm in the front but took them off. I chipped up the finish on the longer bolts when installing them with an impact wrench.

12" what kind are they??

So you kept the rear 25mm on??

BTW since you took those front 15mm spacers off, means you have a 15mm set to sell ;). PM me if interested :)

I can't tell if the 355 goons hijacked this thread or not...

A 348 Series Speciale and Spider use rear wheels with a built-in 25mm spacer and no changes to the fronts. This was to answer criticism for the car's quirky handling at speed.

Good to know it will be OK. I did get the special socket. Thanks for the input. I had wondered if I should get maybe 5-10 mm spacers for the front instead.

Post some pics when you fit the spacers.

On a peripheral note, do standard 348 wheels for ordinary road use need torqueing or is it only necessary when spacers are fitted.

Just dreamin...lol. Since it looks as though I'm NEVER going to get a set of 355CH wheels I'll probably go with 360CH(18" which is wider than the following 19"ers and lighter too) or Stradale(19")..maybe even 430(19") wheels redone in charcoal metallic.....I think the offsets in these wheels is more than a 355 which may preclude having to add spacers.
