Hi Guys, I'm not here to flame anyone, just a little concerned, and would like to hear from those on the Ferrari Chat. My friends and I have ordered about $10k worth of stuff from Ferrari Parts Exchange, but as I have come to gather, there is some terrible weather going on in the States at the moment, and we have been told that the parts we have ordered has been delayed. It is almost a month since we have transferred the money to them and still no indication from them when the parts will be sent. I have tried calling them once and only managed to get voicemail. I don't want to say anything, or comment, just want to know if I should be worried about this situation, what with the high value and all, and whether I should do anything. Thanks.
Is "bad weather" the reason for the delay from your seller? If so, I smell scam unfortunately. It's not like the entire country is covered in a monsoon.
Good luck with your parts. I'm sorry I cannot relay any information on those folks. But I do know they've been around for several years. Use Ricambi America the next time.
Perhpas someone in the California area go and "door knock" for you too see what they are up to with your parts??
I just drove from reno,nv. to oakland,ca. to L.A. to bakersfield to hesperia to L.A. to san dieago to yuma,az. pretty much covered ca. seen some smoke but no roads closed all in the last two days.
They appear to be at this address (from the Contact Us page on their website): Lyle Tanner Enterprises 4235 Power Inn Road Unit C Sacramento, CA 95826 916-454-3240 (phone) 916-454-3654 (fax) Monday thru Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm The website is at: http://www.ferraripartsexchange.com/ FWIW, I've never dealt with them.
Apparently fchat user "308 milano" successfully bought a thermostat from them. See fchat post below (dated 6-18-2008): http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?p=137803445#post137803445 And this is an encouraging quote on the FCA website: "http://www.ferraripartsexchange.com/ - Lyle Tanner is a sponsor here. Lots of hard to find parts, and helpful folks." Link to FCA page is: http://www.ferrariclubofamerica.org/FuseTalk/messageview.cfm?catid=9&threadid=1717 Seems to be a legit company. Good luck. .
I don't want to start rumors...but wasn't there another long thread about these guys being bad to deal with? That name sounds very familiar...try doing a search here, may reveal something (maybe in a diff. forum)
I bought an instrument panel from them recently and got it with-in a week. I think you should call them for tracking your package that's what I did. http://www.ferraripartsexchange.com/
There are some fires in Northern California.....no bad weather. I don't think any of this will effect your order. good luck!!
Thanks guys. If there is no adverse experience with them up to now, I feel a little (somewhat) better. The parts are being shipped to them from the East (before being consolidated and shipped to me) and it's along this journey that they say the trucks are not moving due to the bad weather. I've called them over the last two days and while they are being nice about it, I'm still getting the "standard" answers, if you know what I mean. It could be delay tactics, but I'm ok as long as they are going to deliver. I'll just wait a little longer and keep you guys posted. Being out-of-pocket for that amount is a little scary when I'm not even in the same country! I wonder if anyone lives nearby them?
I live in the Bay Area and there is nothing that's affecting anything here. The fires have no impact on commerce whatsoever. Kai
I'm in the Bay Area too, and there are definitely no weather, or even fire, issues here right now. The Midwest has had massive flooding and some other severe weather though, so if the parts are coming from the East, then there is a good chance that there are transportation delays along the way (assuming they were shipped ground instead of air). Tom
Hi, I have bought used parts from them in the past without any problems. I would use them again if I need to!! Regards, Phil.
