Just buy a 348, it's at the most a $50K car, probably cheaper, it's not like you are buying a brand new F430. You can upgrade to a 355 in a couple of years. You don't have to be wealthy to afford a Ferrari, just smart as it sounds like you are. You are working and you have your own business. You are 19 and are on the right track. A ferrari is a good investment in the sense, it gives you motivation, drive to be successful and want to do good in life. It's good to hear some one young your age wants nice things in life and wants to work hard to get them. Enjoy things now, but also put a little aside for later.

Thanks alot! And something that actually helped me during hard times...was actually a picture of a F50 infront of my desk. So I was always thinking....if I just work hard enough....

You can be mature in many ways....I am mature in a way that I dont need/want to speed on highways etc....I do that when im working (track, strip). I have much to learn I agree! And I look forward to it.

I like what Ernie said... I knew maintenance costs were insane but I did not realize how insane. I do 90% of the labor myself. I don't understand why Ferrari sprk plug wires are $420/set they don't look so special.
I've only had my 308 for a couple months and was going thru the paperwork, when it had 7,000 miles it had the valves replaced (I do not know why) but the bill was $7500.00 in 1989.
I know my car is older... I've had it 2.5 months and so far I've put $10,000 in parts just giving it TLC and I plan numerous projects for this winter.
Just be SURE you are prepared.

Of course not a dealer... my car is a $30,000 car. Dealers don't seem to want to have anything to do with me. I suppose they don't see enough $$$$. So far the treatment I've gotten from dealers when I'm looking for parts is down right rude.

What he said. I got a 348 about 9 months ago, and once the initial bigs have been worked out, I have not had any mechanical problems. Go for it!

If you aren't a poser and speed isn't the ultimate in your Ferrari purchase then maybe a good 328GTS would be a good choice. Not to expensive to run and it says Ferrari all over and a real involving car to drive. That was my first Ferrari at 20, but back then when I bought the '86 328 model the 348 was just hitting the showrooms, so it was still a modern Ferrari. Anyway I kept it until '98 and I never got to master the car, lots of fun for sure.

You are certainly mature for being able to hold your eger or lust for the Ferrari because of wrong impressions.... Don't try to be over mature though... it makes you too old too fast. I am now trying not to be mature no more... times for me to be young again..!!!

Come to think of it... if you are so successful in business that you can buy things without a loan, you must not only have the maturity but high confident, so high that instead of asking us weather to buy Ferrari or not, you would just pose the pictures of the Ferraris you have....... " A guy with great confident will not be intimidated by his appearance with the Ferrari."

Im not really caring so much about the appearance...what I ment was that I dont want any other guys my age to dent/key my car when im out. Trashtalk doesn´t mind me much...since they dont have the balls to say it to my face.

    Darth,
It's good that you asked this question. Many people would simply not know what to do under those circumstances. And, it is possible that they might continue to wear them without considering the consequences.
By posting here, you are opening the door to allow others to share their personal experiences.
Doubtless, you will receive many responses regarding 'what to do'. I am trusting you will make a mature decision.

Cool. No need to put the 'Ferrari' fire out completely, though! I didn't mean to be overly harsh or abrupt in my post from the other evening, but I was frustrated. My apology.
I've been self-employed for close to 30 years and, in that time, my income has fluctuated wildly. Yours may also, and what is good today may not be good tomorrow. If I've learned anything, it is to plan and save for the future--you never know what's coming.
Best of luck! I know you will make a decision that is thoughtful.

Since I was a child...I knew I would have a rosso Ferrari sometime in my life. I even knew that red ferrari colour I liked was ´rosso´ when I was 9 years old. My time will come and sooner or later you will see a thread by me...."here´s my newly purchased Ferrari" :)
I appreciate your and others advice on the subject, as you are far more experienced in life and ferrari ownership than I am.

    Thanks again!

You are still a child ;) I doubt (though not impossible) you've experienced many of the real challenges of adulthood like for one, being responsible for others standard of living .... etc.

Just live your life, do what's right, be secure and go with the flow
