I have chosen a Nero interior color. The Design Centro has chosen Alcantara rather.than leather to be used in locations such as the lower dash, center arm rest and tunnel, lower door panels , seat side trim, center cushion, and seat back, as well as other interior trim in the cockpit which the salespeople cannot be sure of.

Maybe I should fight to option all those pieces in leather. Perhaps I’ll do the center seat cushion as leather and leave the rest in Alcantara?

Is the Alcantara ugly and cheap looking? Will it look old and scummy?

Alcantara is a polyester synthetic material. I don’t wear polyester suits anymore. Unless I’m going to a disco

You're the buyer. Get what you want. Otherwise, every time you get in the car, you'll be reminded that you didn't get what you want.

Alcantara does not feel cheap and plastic-y ... a lot of premium high end car manufacturers use it extensively and I never heard anyone complaining

Alcantara can be nice and add a nice touch, it’s all personal taste. I think Ferrari has so many nice leather colors, sometimes black works well, but there are other choices as well. I think you should get it as you want it- @GrigioGuy said it perfectly.

Nothing wears, looks, smells and feels like quality leather for a Ferrari interior. Its not a race car although vintage cars had a lot of leather as well. Some may disagree and that ok. Why spend so much and not get what your really want.

I think NFL receiver Rob Gronkowsky said it best, "I even know That Not Leather."

Alcantara seat centers and accents elevate the interior IMHO. But alcantara is not as durable as leather. But it’s your car, get whatever puts a smile on your face when you open the door!

It's your choice obviously, but I never would sawp leather for synthetic, especially when a brand uses a leather that feels so soft, smells so rich and looks so smooth...;)

Just adding to the chamber here. I like alcantara for accents and headliner with leather filling the rest! Either way, at this price point, do leather wherever you want to and ignore the pressure to do alcantara. Nobody at Design Centro is putting any money toward the purchase, are they? :)

Alcantara has a higher coefficient of friction so for seating it helps to keep you glued

It is probably lighter than leather so helps to save weight

Aesthetics are of course entirely personal

I don't think the weight savings are very much (if any), but certainly not enough to matter on a 3700lb grand touring car.

Sort of like when a person who weighs over 250 pounds asks if this article of clothing makes them look heavy!
