I've just heard through some irrefutable sources that Chevette is coming out with a smaller entry level car with a smaller price point and more market appeal. They will call it the Chevette "Dono". But we all know it's not a real Chevette don't we!
Can anibody pleese to be runing carfax for me??? Pleese hury??? 1G1TB21CXHA125291 mite only be dreem, I cood land big fish, at E-Bay price my small oil rich kingdom can survive, inshooreng my rung on world ladder. Hopeful King Chevetteer of Fredonia BTW: I thout thay only came wiht F1 ??
Holy Krap! I just went by my neighbors garage, and he has an old chevette parked behind his lawnmower. All numbers matching, original frame, still made while Lee Iococca was alive! God, I remember when these were selling for 3x list, in the late 80's. It was the last car designed by the great one. The car needs a 600,000$ restoration, but after its done it will easily fetch 3000$ at the next Barrett Auction!!! Ohh, you antique guys, eat your hearts out! Mike Sheean called, wants it...
HOLY CRAP! Tom S. just found an AMC-Pacer bodied Chevette on eBay! None of us were smart enough to recognize the underlying cast iron chassis -- but he did. Once that body is removed and the original Chevette body is restored, he'll be a multi-gazillionaire. Look for it in Cavallette magazine next month.

Although I admire your desire to own one of the few top of the line automobiles, perhaps you should wait and save your money untill you can purchase a vehicle that will elevate your status, as well as get you all the tail you can imagine, like a chevy citationII.
I sold my Chevette Turbo II Special Ground Effects Edition on E-bay two weeks ago. The buyer, a Mr. N. Iger Ianfraud, sent me a cashier's check for $25,000 more than the purchase price, and he is letting me keep some of the extra money!!! I shipped him the car already, but strangely the check hasn't cleared yet. I'm getting get pissed off, so I'm thinking of keeping the whole $25,000 for compensation. Would anyone think that this would be ripping him off? It was a great car with the Fragile One shifter (F1) option plus Compact Sh--box (CS) stripes, easily worth 25K more than the Ebay close.
You think that's cool? Well I saw some spy shots of the ChevetteXX ! They're making 35 total, to commemorate the original 35HP engine output. They can only be pushed around certain tracks I hear.
Thats a load of BS and just another way for the dealers to "take us to the cleaners". I had a Chevette with well over 30,000 miles on it and the original belts looked perfect.
Yes, but from what I understand (undisclosed sources) the original engine is presently in the possession of Carl Haas. My source tells me, that he used it in the CheLola Special, securing a second place at the 2.75 hours of Mena, AR in '76.
People with class don't drive Chevettes What you really need is a 78 Pontiac Sunbird with a V8 in it...
I secretly own a Chevette but people find out about it somehow. I got mine all detailed for my 20th high school reunion. I knew all the girls would go crazy over it when I drove up in it. But, just as I pulled in, right next to me was the former team quarterback's AMC Gremlin. I felt so up-staged ...
Speaking of which, you can only get on the ChevetteXX waiting list if you've already owned a Pacer AND a Gremlin.
Make sure the Chevette has not been resprayed, the original finish paint washed off after a few runs through the car wash and the bare metal gave a nice rust hue compete with holes after awhile Side bolster and complete seat wear foam disintegration is common, but new vinyl can be sourced at House of Fabrics watch for the factory 8 track player and speakers, they are extremely rare to find and worth 10x the price of some used chevettes about $34.95 at a swap meet OE hub caps were know to fly off randomly driving home new from the dealer after hitting a bump in the road so hard to find as well Set a side at least 1/2 the price of the car for future maintenance issues so about $80 make sure the car has not been tracked or that homeless people have slept in it for months
