I have the opportunity to purchase a OEM stradale front bumper. By the time I get done with it, the cost will be around $2,500 (includes clear bra).

Does anyone have photo's of a 360 spider with a stadale front bumper and does it make sense??? Is there that much impact with the mod???

    Any thoughts would be appreciated.

IMO "No". You don't want to be a CS imitation.

I really like the CS bumper a lot more. When/if it comes time to change my front bumper, I would consider it. I do not think it is any different than people adding carbon fiber parts to their 360's, or challenge wheels.

I do Not need to change the bumper, the original is in perfect condition !!!
And already has the clear bra, etc.

This would only be a change - just because I can get an OEM stradale bumper at a great price, but after shipping, installation, painting install the clear bra - it is atleast $2,500.

I'd do it. You may want to add CS the side skirt as well.

Replacing only the front splitter could have an adverse effect on handling characteristics at higher speeds.
The factory has designed the bodywork specifically on each model in order to streamline airflow and create the right amount of downforce. The 360CS's front splitter 'lips' under the intakes have been extended to increase downforce. In order to balance front to the rear, the rear deck lid spoiler or nodler has been kicked up and the rear tunnel diffuser has been redesigned. Mating these aids together produces a balanced and functional effect on aerodynamic downforce.

I understand and see your point completely, but from my experience the 360 spider could seriousely need some more downforce in the front at HIGH speeds, eg. where the aerodynamics actually matter. Besides, honestly who is tracking a spider so seriousely anyways ??

But my Yes vote came mainly because of the visual reasons. (and since there never was a CS spider, I dont thinik it would be a CS imitation, just a spider with CS front bumper)

    I vote yes for it.

It would add a stunning presence to the vehicle.

Does Chris Froian (VTC4198) have anything to do with this poll?

I like it and if you like it do it. It's your car so I wouldn't weight to much on what others think... Also if you don't end up liking it you can always put the original back on.

Yes, if the ground clearance is close to stock when dealing with driveways, gutters, ramps and other naturaly occuring road hazards. The look is much more complete. I don't buy the "poser" theory, It's simply a different part with a more pleasing line. If my bumper cover gets damaged I will go with a CS cover without question.

Unfortunately I believe you missed the point. Fitting the CS splitter only would distrub the aerodynamics at speed.

Sorry, let me try to explain again (english is my 3rd language).
You mean that Fitting the CS splitter only would distrub (in a bad way) the aerodynamics at speed. And I mean that Fitting the CS splitter would distrub (in a good way) the aerodynamics at speed so the result would be more to my liking.

I was thinking that since the whole CS aero mods add allaround downforce, adding only the CS front, one would unbalance the purposed downforce by only increasing the front downforce. But since to my liking more downforce at front would be nice (atleast feel) I was thinkig it would be a good thing (in my opinnion). So I guess I am intentionally trying to disturb the Ferrari engineers highly engineered aerodynamics, mainly because In my oppinnion it would feel nicer (nicer defined by me) to drive at high speeds. Please feel free to educate me if my thoughts are wrong.

Areodynamics and aquadynamics are interesting, but yes I am a rookie in it.

I think it is not that simple. It could create a dangerous effect ?

I remember in the 80s with the 911, if you ordered the front spoiler , you had to order the rear wing otherwise the car would be unstable ( more so than a car without front spoiler ).

This could be the case here ?

You know that I had this conversation last night on my way home from the office. A buddy of mine (also has a 360) and has a ton of track experience was walking me through why I probably should not change the front bumper. These cars are perect from the factory. Everything is designed to allow the car to be pushed to the limits (from the body to the tires and wheel design, etc.)

When I purchased the car, it was all original. Since then I have changed the wheels = 19" front and 20" rear and lowered the car. It does not handle as good as when I purchased the car and it is very darty (if that is a word). I did track the car, but probably drove it at 70% because I DID NOT want to break or damage a wheel. There is not enough sidewall on the rear tires.

So, although the car dynamics have been changed, and I do plan on tracking the car, it will most likely have an even greater effect on the trackability or driving at high speeds and the ability to loose control.

These are all very good points.

But for those who know me, that does not mean a lot to me. It is really about the form and then function will follow. For the amount of time that I will be tracking the car, to the amount of road use. It probably would NOT really make a difference to me.

    Still not sure.

Nicke, I'll try and make it plain and simple. If you 'only' change the front splitter without addressing the rear it will distrub the aerodynamics in adverse way. In other words, its not a good idea. However, if you don't intend to do any competitive or high speed driving, the words aerodynamics and downforce will mean very little.

Thank you for the answer and bearing with me. One more questions which hopefully relates a litttle bit to this thred.

What would you recommend if one would like more stability/downforce (to make the front less loose) on the front end of a 360 spider in high speeds (over 200km/h~125mph) ?
