OK guys, I think I know what some people are going to say - and believe me I have always felt that repainted cars (especially color change cars) are de-valued.

Car is currently grigio with bordeaux/black interior. I'd feel like I have toyed with the idea of repainting it rosso corsa many times - enough to begin to seriously think about it.

    With that said:

    1) I may never sell my car and if I do I will not necessarily care what people think as the car is excellent and I know it (especially after seeing some other local cars)

    2) The car currently had many paint issues, ranging from tiny to small, even though everyone thinks the car looks great - lol

    3) I am very picky and know the paint and body industry well, I know what the car needs to have a 99 point paint job (notice I said 99 point) although I would like to say that I sort of like the idea of driving the car now because I will not be as hurt if the paint gets damaged.

    For me:

    Pros of repainting,

    1) I can make the car perfect or really close to it.

    2) Parts of it have already been resprayed anyway.

    3) I feel like the red color always looks better on these cars ( and I don't even really like red cars - except Ferraris).

    4) There are no jambs to do in these cars so I can paint it any color I like, easily.

    Cons,

    1) Obviously the loss in value

    2) If I make the car too perfect, I won't be able to park it anywhere.

    3) Maybe if I do a nice paint job, I better just make it the original color?

    Ideas?

IMO red/Bordeaux is a no go. That would look really awful.

If you want to change the color and leave the interior you need to think of a contrasting exterior color like white or if you want tk be really dating. ,TDF blue. Or of course silver...

No need to diss other folks cars but red in this case wouldn't look good. Has to be a beige or black interior. Imo

I went from yellow to Black/black.
Took everything apart on my F355 so there is no yellow trace. Fabulous paint job and the car looks like new.

As long as the paint job is properly done, who cars!
Cars are initially painted at the factory anyway

Yeah, I did forget to mention that my other options would be a repaint in the stock color or black!

Probably won't do anything until I decide 100% - that could take years lol.

Not many exterior colors work with bordeaux interior. Red does not. The last thing you would want to do is paint it the wrong color and not know it until it is done and you have to live with it.

Wrap it the color you think you want. If you still like it 6-12 months later then paint it that color.

No to the color change! Your "con" item 2 is correct. I restored a 356 Roadster, and made it too good to comfortably drive it. I sold it.
