The Lambo is a fine car but it isn't a Ferrari. New Lambo's in the Boston area where I
Live are being discounted left and right and you can't find a new Ferrari. If you have an itch to scratch go buy a Lambo but I think you'll be back. Maybe go rent one a Disney, I did it last month, drove a Superleggeria, nice car but not anything compared to a 458.

    458 > 430 OR GALLARDO

    GALLARDO VS 430

They are both great but the gallardo will get you way more attention if that's what you want. Performance wise they are pretty identical but the G is AWD
The White Gallardo Spyders look best. IMO

I've had my eye on a Gallardo for a while as well...also interested in comparisons from those who owned both.
I love my 430 but may add to the stable in the future.

I've driven an SL Gallardo, and didn't like the trans compared to my 430.

The seating position in the Gallardos is different than the 430s. I felt I was in a cave like setting where the roof line and windshield seemed very wrong to me. Its hard to explain unless you've sat in it.

edit: in regards to a convertible you won't have the roof issue as much.

    Still wouldn't do it.

More attention than a 430? Not sure I'd sign up for that.

Honestly, the Gallardo looks really dated to me. It looks 20 years old already.

And... who wants a Lambo without Lambo doors? What the heck were they thinking?

Most who have driven both say the Lambo doesn't have the same road feeling and although the engine is torque-y, doesn't rev like the Ferrari.

Really? park them next to each other and see which one the general public flock to. I've witnessed it first hand at numerous valets-events-etc
Like i said both are great cars. It's kind of funny how many different opinions you'll get on this topic. Ask the same question on a Lambo forum and the opinions will be completely different.
HONESTLY the 360 looks better to me than a 430 it just doesn't perform nearly as well.

458 is just a work of art!

Sorry. You may have misunderstood my post. Excessive spectator attention is my least favorite part of sportscar ownership, and the 430 draws more attention than my 612, which draws more attention than the 993, etc. So, a Lambo would not be right for me in that regard.

In Kentucky, ANY Ferrari or Lambo is a rare sight. YMMV.

I went for a drive with a buddy who had a gallardo. I was driving a 575 at the time. People were literally pushing me away to get a shot at the G.

Sometimes its nice to have a change. Whether its better or worse is only your call. Forget what other people think. Personally I'm more of a driver and don't care for the attention so much.

I've driven two F430s (Coupe and Spider both with F1 transmission) and one Gallardo (Spyder with E-Gear). Two completely different animals, IMVHO. The F430s are very nimble and agile while the Gallardo felt stiff and heavy. Steering is very heavy in the Gallardo, but very light in the F430. IMO, the F430 is more of a driver's car. In the end, it's ultimately your choice; drive the Gallardo then make your decision.

    Best of luck,
    -Gil

Before I purchased my F430 I was very close on a Gallardo purchase. I actually had a deposit on a white 08 coupe and backed out....In the end I just felt the Ferrari F430 was a better decision. For me at 6' 3" I fit a lot better in the F430.

If you really want a Gallardo go for it! Everyone gets the itch for something different, it's human nature....

I have owned and still own both cars, but they are both spiders. My f430 is a 2006 and the G is a 2011. Prior to the 2011 Gallardo I owned a 2007 Gallardo Spider and there is no comparison between the cars. The f430 is like driving a car that is refined power and speed while the Gallardo is more of a feeling of brute force. The cars are different for many reasons, but the handling of the two is the main difference. The AWD of the G makes it feel heavier, but that really improved after 2009 when more of the Audi handling and steering technology was being applied to the Lambo's. I did not like the way the 2007 Gallardo handled, but when I test drove a 2011 I could tell a significant difference. In the end I would still keep the f430 over the Gallardo, but the improvements they have made the last couple of years to the Lambo's has closed the gap some. If you are looking for a Lambo I would look for one with the LP-560 designation unless you like the heavier steering feel that the older Lambo's provide.

A year ago coincidentally, when I no longer wear Ed Hardy shirts, I sold my yellow G for a red F430 and never look back.

I agree with Hardten. I drove both the 430 spider and the gallardo spider back to back. I've always wanted a 430 spider and figured it would be my next car, until I drove the gallardo. It felt much better to me, more stable for sure and more power. Surprisingly. I found out it was an lp560. So unless you buy the LP 560, your better off buying the 430. LP560's are still almost $190k which is out of my price range so it's a 430 for me.

I always wanted a lamborghini since childhood. When I went to Italy, I could tour only one factory and I went to the lamborghini factory. When it came time to buy a convertible for Miami. I test drove an 06 gallardo and an 06 430 just in case. No comparison. Just a completely different feel. Went with 430 and have never looked back......
    Until aventador came out lol
