I am going to be spending 2 months in Europe this summer and I was thinking about stopping in Sant'Agata on my way from Venice to Florence. Has anyone here ever taken a tour of the factory or the museum? Is it worth it to go out of my way to see it? Any input is appreciated.

They should be building my Gallardo Spyder while I am there, so it would be interesting to tour the factory and wonder which one of them is my car :)

When I was there in 2002 I went by after hours to simply look through the windows, but instead I was chased away by the security guard.:(

He didn't want me to take pictures, only to take a hike! The Ferrari operation was much more welcoming, although you can't get a factory tour without help from a dealer, but at least Ferrari has a museum anyone can pay to enter.

I'm a lambo fan, but they seem more closed to the public. Check with your dealer?

    Good luck, though!

I heard they force you to eat Bratwurst & Sauerkraut if you go there. If you like that food(which I do) then check it out, but if you want some good pasta, you will have to go elsewhere.

By all means go, but go with low expectations. My dealer organised my tour last October, but when I got there, I got a very cursory tour (< 30mins) by a guy who wished he was elsewhere. :(

It's disappointing to hear about visits like this. I organised my visit with Christina and she gave us a guided and very in depth (though I had to help at some points :D) tour of the museum and then manage to fluke coinciding my visit with a tour group out of the states who were getting a tour of the factory and Christina asked if we wanted to jump on the back of the tour. I was speechless. Unbelievable! Sometimes the dealers can be slack so maybe email christina at lamborghini (if she is still there, which I'm sure she is) I don't have her email atm but I'm sure someone will.

Make an appointment way advance. That way you dont have the problem of not being admitted into the factory. Another note, when I was a young boy, I went backpacking around europe and got to go to the factory. That was my first trip to the factory. I still remember when we got off the bus and walking towards the factory, I saw a white diablo coming up. When it was close by, I noticed the driver flashed the headlight, when it got close enough, it was none other than Valentino with his great grin and his subsequent wave of his arms to welcome me. I couldnt forget that experience. I didnt make an appointment, but guess what? They acccomodated me and my friends immediately with great generosity and only indicated to us that next time we wanted to visit, we needed to make an advance appointment. Then one of the factory liasons immediately gave us the tour despite the fact that they were fully aware that we were just a bunch of kids and the likelyhood of us buying a lamborghini were pretty much nil. That really affirmed my love for lamborghinis. Because not only are the cars exciting, but the people who build them are amazingly generous and friendly. On the other hand, we couldnt make it past the gate when we tried the ferrari factory. I guess young boys with passions for exotics just wouldnt cut it there...

As a response to F1 ace's statement that he got chased by lamborghini security after hours... if I was a security seeing someone peeking around during closed hours, I would think.... Thief? Intruder? The key is to go to the factory DURING opening hours
