I don't like #1 and #2 drivers the way Ferrari do it I prefer to have both equal and let the cards fall in favour of the faster on the day, if Max is in the zone and the car is fast then Dan can sit back and guard him from the rear and the same if Dan is on for that day We should all remember back to 1999 when Irvine was well behind and then had to try and make up a lot of points for the WDC
It is the Constructors Championship that matters the most to the team.......if the jockeys can't ride with that in mind; having been paid huge sums of dosh to do it, then the team bosses are solely at fault. Max is a firebrand racer, and Ricci won't back down.......so get it sorted. BUT, not like Ferrari, where number 2 driver often out-performs number 1, only for something to go tits up and put him back again. Personally, I admire all the drivers, competition at 200mph..?.........that takes serious guts from ALL of them, every time they step out. It's going to be a very interesting season, but I wonder if the cars F1 technology has outstripped tyre technology ?
They'll never send him back to STR. They could with Kvyat as he wasn't anywhere near as talented, and they don't have a driver anywhere that's near as good as Verstappen in the pipeline anyhow. So sacking him/sending him in a slower car is definitely not going to happen. They've never asked him to slow down and let Ricci pass as far as I know, so there's no evidence he'll ignore team orders. Even if, such complications can easily be rectified by allowing Ric to pass in order to try and overtake another driver, but if he fails by end of the race they'll swap positions back. It's a level of trust placed in both drivers to make sure they keep to that...and if one driver doesn't do as agreed guess who'll get the new part first next time? I honestly don't expect any of the top boys to make such a decision by themselves. Max was stupid defending overly harsh, Ric was stupid trying his signature late dive move, Red Bull was stupid for not intervening the inevitable.
[QUOTE=" We should all remember back to 1999 when Irvine was well behind and then had to try and make up a lot of points for the WDC[/QUOTE] And Mika Salo fell on his sword for Ferrari.
RBR could subtly discipline Max through race strategy. Ferrari clearly favors Vettel and jams Kimi even when he has superior speed/position. I don't think that they will however--Max is the Golden Child.
No. If he is a "Great" driver then there shouldn't be an "inevitable" he should have enough talent/skill/maturity to never crash with his teammate. Inevitable is a word to describe drivers like Maldondo or Gro.
Lets clear something up. Exactly how many blocking mover is one allowed per corner? I've always been told one.
The question the FIA fails to answer is whether Max did two of them yesterday or whether it was one "and then he got back to his race line"...As long as they do not clearly state that it will always remain to the personal taste of the stewards in charge. I would say it was one too much... Gesendet von meinem SM-G930F mit Tapatalk
Lewis, Seb, Ayrton, Alain.. .he is in good company crashing into his team mate Gesendet von meinem SM-G930F mit Tapatalk
In his interview Max said that we’re both equally fast. That’s BS. Ric was way much faster especially at the time of the incident.
yep, Max was having "harvesting" issues throughout the race.....mainly down the straight....his car would "crap" out in the middle of the straight. This happened several times. It was impeding Ricci down the straight. Max would gain it back in the turns but lost it on the straight. "Keep it clean Max!!" was mentioned numerous times. Nevertheless, both drivers and management at fault.
LOL this video! Some leg showing for BAS to enjoy https://www.instagram.com/p/BiMEkcknSbX/?hl=en&taken-by=maxverstappen1
Wherever Max goes there are big problems. His wheel to wheel skills make Maldonado look like Prost. Been watching F1 for 20+ years and I've never been so nervous about a driver when cars are around him...you're just waiting for the incident
FIA rolls a dice. They added this rule recently because they are ****ing useless and Whiting needs to retire. and this plus All quotes taken from formula1.com.
What makes Max worse than Maldonado is that Max is way more dangerous because he is so much faster. Max weaponizes his speed and talent.
Being on a great team and having an established F1 family background, and having had mega-hype in the press, Max might have millennial entitlement issues.
At age 20 the brain is not yet fully developed--and bombarding it with 5 or 6 G loads can't help. Any neuro-scientists care to chime in?
And coming into F1 that early being told you will be multiple champion for sure does not help either... Lewis and Max suffer the same problem: both Dennis and Horner should have built them up more carefully rather than just putting them on top, that does not help their development of character.
