The Houston F40 crash was the result of the tires, the larger sizes specific to our cars are sometimes hard to source.

I have heard that driving on 1992 OEM tires, caused that accident, as the turbos spooled up.

I would think F50s might fall victim to the same, and as this happened in several blocks travel they were obviously cold, as well.

I pulled parts off a TransAm last week, the passengers head imprint the size of a basketball in the windshield, from the inside out...

    Fasten the seat belts.

If an stuntman dies in the filming of the movie, should the movie not be shown?

I opened this thread thinking the topic would be about old vintage/collector cars (i.e. 250 GTO, etc) that get crashed while on the track during a race or something to that extent and was ready to say:

"Of Course they should be rebuilt. There's so few left of them in the world. If the owner has the means to rebuild why not?"

But what a terrible article! I'm actually infuriated that they would focus more on the car than an innocent life lost. The real question is...Would you as an exotic car owner take someone out for a ride in your car? Would you change your answer after reading the article?

I (personally) don't offer rides to kids and if I do, this incident will be forefront on my mind. I do however, let some kids sit in my car at shows.

Think of it like: "Cars don't kill people, drivers kill people."

More of the current shifting of blame to the tools.

You remember the controversy over the Twilight Zone movie?
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Twilight_Zone_accident

Accident that killed two children plus actor Vic Morrow. Film still released.
Although quite a bit of legal fall-out from filming with children near pyrotechnics at night, in violation of California child labor laws.

Compared to that, rebuilding an F50 crashed by a non-owner isn't a big issue.

Never said it should not be rebuilt. You asked "why is everyone so hung up on it...".

Maybe you don't have children. But its sad when a child dies at a young age.

I have no problem with the car being rebuilt. I do feel sad for the family that lost their child. That's all.

Around here, if a grisly murder takes place in a house, it's often razed.wasnt the houses fault, but ppl get freaked out about the stigma, and I think it's seen as respecting the dead.
I don't necessarily agree with it, but many do.

some want to hold on to a memory, even a memory as bad as this, that might be a reason some would rebuild,,

I have mixed feelings here. I like the idea of rebuilding but I'm not sure I would personally want it. Like a house, I'm not sure I would want a house knowing someone died in it.

The Sandy Hook Elementary School was apparently torn down and a different school rebuilt on the site. Was this the wrong call? Wasn't the building's fault.

Yes I think it was a mistake but the way people think these days it was probably necessary because there probably wasn't a parent in the area who would have sent their kid there. We don't tear down entire structures where other people were killed do we?

Depends whether they decided to rebuild it like a prison or airport, with security screening at the entrances.

Maybe they thought that will be the future of education.

What if the passenger concerned was not wearing a seat belt? Despite being a minor taken for a ride by an adult who did not own the car and may or may not have had permission to drive it.

In the context of this thread that is not a flippant question.
