    OK, even after having private talks with him, he just doesn't get it and I think is only taking value away from the community.

    I added him to my block list today. gave him the benefit of the doubt over and over and never attacked him, but he just seems to ask purposefully dumb questions. not sure of his motives....truly stupid or just to antagonize?

    Rob,

    I'm very glad you started this thread. I have just spent the last half hour
    worrying out my outburst to one of mr Green's posts.

    I would like to apologise. I should know better than to let someone like him get to me.

    But I stand by what I said.
    I think there is something wrong with this guy. He seems to have no interest in cars and only a very dangerous interest with other people's finances or he's just out to piss people off.

    Well he's certainly pissed me off.

    I WOULD DEFINATELY SUPPORT YOUR MOTION TO BAN HIM

    Yes, he needs to be banned. He will mature in a few years, and can then be welcomed back. For now his high school antics can no longer be tolerated.

    Rob,

    I wasn't aware that this was a democracy. It seems to me that if individuals really can;t stand this guy they should take advantage of the blocking options you've provided for us. If you decide to ban him because he is dragging your site down than that is your perogative. What percentage of your members need to vote to ensure you're making the right decision? I personally am not a big fan of Mr. Green, only once in a blue moon does he contribute in a worthwhile manner. Most of the time I just don't respond to his posts, I have once though I couldn't resist trying to be funny.

    BTW. I'm getting used to the new board and the customization features are a definite upgrade only wish I could get a faster line where I live. WELL DONE!!

    Rob, despite my graphic posts above, my opinion is that you should not ban ANYONE unless they purposely & repeatedly break the TOS, and/or they are engaging in some sort of illegal or blatantly immoral behavior on here. None of us are forced to read ANY posts we don't want to read, and now those with less intestinal fortitude can block certain posters...which I am certain has already happened to me (thankfully). Don't start down the slippery slope of banning posters who displease you or others here, or you will become another JRV.

    Why bother? He'll just generate another ID.

    Right now people can just put him on the ignore list. The list works great -- I've got 4 people on mine and the noise has almost completely dropped out.

    Maybe you can just make every thread he starts automatically move to a "These threads are probably useless" forum :)

    I already put him on the Ignore list yesterday. He contributes nothing and irritates. He reminds me of TONY (Pantera).

    He has NONE.

    Well, I think he is a loser and does nothing but see how much he can stir the pot around here. But ban him from a public forum? Nah. That's what the ignore feature is for. Plus since the new software shows you upfront who started the thread, it's easier to not run into his garbage. If enough people do that he'll get bored and go back to doing homework. Besides, it's too easy to create another identity. However, the modest membership fee idea would insure that neither him nor any other time wasting trolls would bother registering if it costs every time to do so. That would certainly cut out the losers.
