Guys, I feel compelled to give credit where it's due. Many years back when I picked up my 430 Scud, I immediately upgraded the exhaust and headers. With headers I went with Capristo, but for the exhaust I went with a brand that was new to the scene. I heard a sample of S-Line on YouTube and liked the pitch. Add to that their design reflected their lightweight and simple approach compared with the heavy "can" systems. So in 2014, I reached out to S-Line and purchased a cat-back exhaust from them and had the unit installed. I'm guessing I was within the first 5 units they've ever made for the 430 Scud. Fast forward to 2024 and what probably was a stress issue that occurred from a design perspective resulted in a crack that formed over time, it ultimately broke the system at the cross frame. I reached out to S-Line and spoke with Teague, whom after speaking with for 10 mins, we concluded that he wasn't even involved either with S-Line or the sale of the system to me. Basically he didn't know me at all and given that it was 10 years ago when I bought the original unit, he conceded that they made some adjustments to the design that allowed the exhaust system to absorb stress movements from chassis at the install points. Subsequent systems ordered from them obviously had this updated design featured, but since mine was part of the first batch, it was inevitable that my system suffered the defect. However it was Teague's immediate offer to build me a new system so that I can get my car back on the road that really makes me want to give him the credit he deserves and to highlight just what an outstanding company S-Line is. In what probably amounted to 1.5 weeks' time, we brand new system was built and sent to me that incorporated the updated design. The only caveat that was that I had to pay the small amount to cover shipping, which I was more than happy to do. Now here's the bonus. Not only did Teague display outstanding customer service and support, the newer system actually sounds even better. I can't speak for what changes they've made since my first ordered unit, but I can say that the idle rumble sounds deeper and richer. While the pitch on the high end sounds even sharper. Add to that, the throttle response is notably better and more immediate. Suffice to say that the overall experience in dealing with S-Line and Teague is one that I will appreciate and in the future will continue to upgrade my cars should they make systems for them.
