Just won best 308 in our annual Show Day. It's the 5th one I've entered but the first I have done seriously, over 250 hours since the end of January to get her up to standard.

Now a few days break and I'll start on next years ....

Beautiful; much nicer than my ratty old 328! Love that crema interior.

But after spending so much time on the prep, aren't you afraid to drive it anywhere?

Thanks very much, I still can't believe it!

No I am not afraid to drive it - the worst thing about the last three months is not being able to drive her, because she has been in bits and pieces. I have only done about 1000 miles in the last year, normally do at least double that. Have lots planned including a Italian weekend away with the Lancia club for their centenary in June.

Then in January '07 I'll sit down and see how much I'll have to do again, although with 20 years dirt cleaned up this last 3 months, it probably won't be as big a job next year.

At least I know of one place I can improve. I lost a point because my clock was wrong ... I had disconnected the battery and forgot to adjust the time when I put it together again.

Haha you did such an awesome job that all they could fault you was the wrong time. You should have told them you had it sync'd with whatever time zone in another country.

Great job on the detailing! It is amazing how well these cars can present while still being original in almost every aspect. Beautiful 308.
