Finally, Scored a set. $4k but has almost new tires and its flawless. Should be here towards the end of the week. Me happy
Congrats! I know these things are hard to find these days, and am really surprised how much people are willing to pay for these. I paid $1000 for my set about 10 years ago, from a racing team in Canada, complete with a set of used slicks. And they had at least 3 or 4 sets they wanted to dispose of. Sure it had blemishes and loads of "patina", but nothing a professional wheel refinisher could handle. Was this set used in racing, or street use mainly? If you are going to refinish them, my suggestion is to not powdercoat. Not because it is magnesium, as magnesium itself can be powdercoated. It is because the alloy had lots of pits when it was sandblasted in preparation for powdercoating, the powdercoated finish would have been terrible. It was better to bring it to a wheel restoration company and have it refinished in conventional paint. Cheers
I believe the set I bought never seen a race track and it was refinished recently. I'll post some pics as soon as I get it later this week.
Got mine today, finally. I will redo it in gold/bronze. My my they are light. Image Unavailable, Please Login
That's a really nice shade of gold. Did you get the 25mm spacers in the front resolved? I'm still curious about why it's not working.
Send it back to me. I want test it again on my side. I can still bring it up with the company that made them
Great choice on the color. If I ever get my hands on a set I'll be aiming for that look. Post some more pics of the car out in the light when you get a chance.
FYI, I put 15mm spacers in the back and none on the front with the Challenge wheels on my 348CH and it looks perfect to me. And the factory 348CH cars have the same suspension geometry as the 355s.
