I don't have a tree. Just a floor lamp that I hung some empty beer bottles from and a California navel orange on top for a star. :(

on edit: no more star, I ate it.

Where did the Christmas tree come from, anyone know? Suppose I should google this...

    Edit: Google gives this answer:
The fir tree has a long association with Christianity, it began in Germany almost a 1000 years ago when St Boniface, who converted the German people to Christianity, was said to have come across a group of pagans worshipping an oak tree. In anger, St Boniface is said to have cut down the oak tree and to his amazement a young fir tree sprung up from the roots of the oak tree. St Boniface took this as a sign of the Christian faith. But it was not until the 16th century that fir trees were brought indoors at Christmas time.

My cousin has ELEVEN fully decorated trees in his house. The picture in my profile is the tallest one at 13' (I'm 6'3" for reference). The playroom tree is decorated with stuffed animals, and there's a train that runs across the whole living room. I think he gets it from his father, who has a 8-foot wreath on the front of his house.

I'll run over there on Saturday and snap some pics.. it's truly insane. I'm all for a MarkPDX-style tree myself. :)
