I think it could be described as pointillism, check this link to a very talented pointillist Paul Signac -- Paul Signac - The complete works the colors and style
I don't know how you define contemporary art but virtually most, if not all, of the examples on the previous 17 pages qualify under the generally accepted definition(s). So the answer to your question must be "Yes". Here are a few examples of recently completed paintings - executed with acrylic ink on watercolour paper. Titles of the pieces are: "Kissing Cousins" "Compound Eye" "Get In Line" "www.F430.com" One might ask why the last painting was given the title of a URL. The answer should be obvious - it's a website. LOL!!! Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login

Wow there is some world class art here. so I, a primitive untrained artist, am appropriately cowed, be that as it may I timidly send one of mine. This is the Ferrari swb 250GT rebodied for Count Volpi after he and Enzo had a falling out. I repro these paintings on canvas giclee prints and embellish them with oil on size 20" x 30". Hi there, Although I signed up to FChat 3 years ago, I haven't posted much til the last couple of weeks. I'm quite familiar with the work of many already featured in this thread (Grant's especially - hi Grant ) but didn't realise you'd all be members of FChat! I'm a 40yo automotive artist and photographer from Melbourne Australia, self-taught in both disciplines. I've been drawing since I was a child, and took up photography at 14 to shoot reference pics for artwork. Photography became my profession at 27. Automotive art isn't all that popular here in Australia (at least not in my experience) so I am incredibly inspired by what I have just seen over the last hour or so going through the 18 pages here. I've added a few examples of my work below. I don't really have a singular style as such, nor am I prolific, but I generally use old fashioned methods for artwork, without the use of computers. I don't offer prints (at least not yet - I think there's something special about having an original piece). My photographic work does rely on software however, and I have been known to spend upwards of 20hrs on a single image, such as the ex-Scuderia Ferrari Alfa Romeo P3 and exploded transaxle shown below. I saw something about advertising being frowned upon here, so I don't know the limits of what links I can share with you, but feel free to ask any questions you may have. Cheers, Dish. 1. Awesome work Dishan. Yes there are a lot of extremely talented artists here on Fchat. They should hold an annual exhibition! I've been meaning to post up artwork but haven't been working on anything car related. One of these days.
