I am loving it. (i guess that is obvious...)
It is nothing like paper... no absorption at all.. a little staining with some strong colours. But the colour, even when dry, can be "mopped" back up to pure white. (How i did the repeating wheel rims over the side body panels of the 328.)
Its a form of plastic actually, so there wont be any fading. Colour fastness depends on the quality of paint. I use Winsor and Newton mainly, so that IMO is the best there is...
The best part: NO warping at all!! (Can't stand that with paper... which is why I buy 300 or 400lb paper... still happens a bit, but controllable)

downsides: Amajor one: fingerprints!!! They are hell. In my case before (and especially after) the drawing stage I lightly wipe it down with thinner/turpentine to get rid of - what usually turns out to be the magority of - any fingerprints.
I find I have to use the watercolour a little "thicker" than usual ie more percentage of paint with the water.
Getting a flat solid area of colour is harder... the paint remains "soupy" on the surface. I tend to use this rather than try to fight it. Gives some cool effects.
Another downside: glazing is impossible, as the wet second layer picks up the first and mixes.

There are small pads of Yupo on ebay usually.. give that a try...

interesting......i read up on it a bit, about being a non-pulp paper.....i get frustrated by the semi-wet paper stretch/warp, even when the perimeter is taped down, or restretched....i don't want to work on an entirely wetted paper! .....i use windor and liquitex acrilycs, but use them like water color for washes....i'm going to try some water-color-pencil soon too....

....i tried a semi-gloss heavy stock paper, but hated it, the color didn't absorb, and could even be wetted & removed later, but mostly it just didn't absorb and spread out like a typical wash does? ...as you say i'll have to try and not fight it maybe, see what effects can come from it? ...there is another shop in town that does carry yupo, so i'll make the trip out there soon...

....visible in the second pic ^^^ i tend to like & have some thin line details, and i was thinking the yupo might be better for this kind of attention?
...i tend to work in layers of washes, so i don't know if it supports that technique very well?

its great for this. find a really waterproof pen... careful.. some say they are waterproof but are not really...
it won't work well with this.. the slickness of the paper will cause the first colour to reactivate and lift off the surface and mix with your new colour on the brush... maybe if the first colour is COMPLETELY dry you will get one swipe of the brush maximum...

Really nice Dino series you have going there... Loving the blue one.

....the next Ferrari car art piece i do i'm definitely going to have to try out the yupo :)

well, I just bought my first significant original. Jennie and I have bought random "starving artist" type originals at art festivals and such never paying too much. I ran into one of my favorite wildlife artists at this year’s Dallas Safari Club show. I have purchased over 5 signed prints from her in the past. I have several on my wall, but also buy them for landowners that let me hunt their place for free.

she actually won the 'Artist of the Year' at this same Dallas Safari Club show and the original I purchased was one of the Ducks Unlimited Canada selections for their 2011 calendar.

    Cynthie Fisher http://www.fisherart.com/

this work is titled "Evening Refuge", decent sized 20 x 24" apx. also got #2-6/250 signed prints and several of the calendars.

This takes me back; an old boss of mine owned a huge collection of originals for the Ducks Unlimited calenders. Nice looking painting!
