I almost headed over last weekend.... it was rougher for them on the way back.. Instead I took a plane to rochester, ny. I still think I got the raw end of the deal.. Be safe, best of luck, how long will you be over there for?!?
How was the boat trip over? I'm interested in doing the same thing in the future (boat trip to Bahamas). Can you give some advice on how it really is. It sounds fun, but does it ever get dangerous feeling where your family is scared etc? How long does it take? Im guessing 2-3 hours. Do you stay on the Yacht while staying in the Bahamas? if so how safe does the marina seem? Boating life in South Florida really intrigues me as to all of the places you can go and experience.
Nothing fancy, just a few videos from yesterday: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YifSnWrO3So&feature=channel http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bJUcAFTzUBM&feature=channel http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zCHZB4941pQ&feature=channel
I'm not a boat owner, but I do love them. There are some truly stunning boats here - you all are very lucky One day eh? <trundles off to find a better-paid job!!! i've been toying with doing this for sometime now..... ughhh i need to buy a boat. That video makes me want to go to the islands soo badly... last week, i wanted a boat just to run over to the local sandbars and play around... now i want a boat to run over to nassau.... this obsession is going to kill my wallet.
Damn, definitely need to go back there...preferably without luggage though, I probably couldn't bare another 3 hour wait in the lines to check if my wallet could explode (fedex everything ).

beautiful sport fish...... I was out on a very similar one last month.... caught a bunch of sail fish, amberjack, and a little mahi mahi.
I stayed in the Grand Bahama Yacht club in port Lucuya. I stayed 15 days and slept on the boat. The crossing can be really smooth or rough. I was lucky this year on both legs of the trip. The sea on the way over was smooth and only two to four. It takes my about three and a half hours traveling about twenty four knots. I always feel safe on the trip and in the Bahamas.
Traded up...twin 140's,4-stroke Suzys, hard top,radar...going to the 'Tower' soon. cheers, RE Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login

^ that boat looks like a ton of fun...... What does a boat equipped like that cost new/used? Id love to pick something like that up to run to the sandbar and go out and wakeboard..
