Sorry to hear about the delays. They're beautiful boats, I'm sure it'll be worth the wait!
Just saw the video Justin (Wagner) posted about the company changing ownership.
Is that what the delays are coming from?
He took us on a test ride in his 39' at the Miami boat show.
We're starting to seriously look into DWs (vs MTI)

I think it’s exciting that DW boats has a guy ( Justin ) that will put everything together.

I was a Skater guy ( had a 28 ), but wanted something new - was looking for a Skater 30 and accidentally drove a DW 36 - bought a DW 32 slot a few weeks later. I love Skater, but the 28 & 30’s are starting to look old.

MTI & DCB do nothing for me ( no offense ) for several reasons …. Book a flight to Ozarks and drive both :)

It's great to hear peoples brand preferences.
I was solidly an MTI or nothing person until I started looking at the DWs.
Lately I've been watching every race I can just to see the different handling characteristics. These boats are so rare its hard to get feedback from people.
We got to spend an hour with Justin at the Miami show. His passion for the industry was great to hear and made us start to seriously look into DWs.

    Living in CT now.
We currently don't have a boat. Used to have a 35' Fountain.
I started looking at 34' MTIs then we made the 'mistake' of going for a test ride at the Miami show in 2023 in a 39' MTI.
My wife loved it and now she's pushing for a 39.

Then we met Justin at this years show and he took us on his 39' DW. We really liked him and the hull seemed great. He was having trouble with one of his engines (modified 450Rs) so we didn't get to experience the acceleration/speed I know it's capable of. It was really struggling to get past 80mph and a lot of slippage getting on plane.

Since I came from and was raised on/in V bottoms I wasn't sure if I'd like a cat. After riding in a couple; wow!

I would lean towards a 32' DW but being we're moving to Florida in January (Miami area) so I'm thinking a 39'-42' might be a better choice.

Though I would love a brand new boat not sure our budget allows that. I do see 39 MTIs used, but as you know, DWs over 36' would have to be bought new because it's a fairly new model and rare.

I meant to add this first but the above are the latest pictures of our new Maritimo being built in Australia and due to being shipped in mid September.where it will arrive at fort lauderdale for final completion and adding of USA stuff like STIDD helm seats , yacht controller and satellite tv controllers among several other items. For info the yachtis capable of cruising 24 hours non stop but not likely with me . It has a flybridge head full couch and satellite TV along with all the comforts of home
As mentioned earlier this boat has a solid fiberglass hull and seem to be rock solid…it will be in the Fort Lauderdale boat show also thanks for watching I am looking forward to its arrival obviously

Thanks Mike, ..my wife and I are looking forward to it. I have aways been a salt water guy and know you are a fresh water boater. Back in the day as they say we had performance boats ie 41 formula which were a cigarette style boat ,back then early late 90s or so . We could cruise the Chesapeake bay and ocean at speeds of up to 90 mph..I recall taking that boat from baltimore to va beach at an average cruising speed of 55 mph made it in 3 hours..fun-times..
Now this is more my style comfortably cruising in HVAC at around 20-22 knots

Well... due to health issues, I never got the restoration plans going. The marina came to me that a legitimate opportunity, besides me, materialized. So I gave up my ownership of PT-3.

    It's going to Canada.

I'm bummed that I didn't pull it off but I'm hopeful that the boat will finally be restored.

Thanks! While I wanted to restore it, hopefully I did my part in saving it.

It is literally the first PT Boat (it was accepted ahead of PT-1 & PT-2). PT-3, PT-4 and the British built Elco purchased Scott-Paine PT-9 were accepted by the Navy on the same day for the start of trials. PTs 1-4 were smaller an lighter than the other boats, 58' twin 2500 cu V-12 Packards; intended as sea launched fast scouts, a role fulfilled by seaplanes. This is why she didn't participate in the Plywood Derbies.

For better or worse, it was part of the first Lend-Lease and was supposed to go to England (MTB-273), but was diverted to Canada for costal patrol and air-sea rescue as B-119 Bras d'Or (the original, not the hydroplane).

Oh wow. I'm sure you thought of it, but I wonder if there is an org in Canada that would have an interest? Where is it located? Still have the engines? What did you estimate restoration cost?

It is going to Canada. My understanding is it is an individual. I had planned on doing one side as PT-3 and the other in Canadian markings:

    Image Unavailable, Please Login

The cost to do it right is probably $2M ($1+M to do the hull right, preserving as much of the original as possible, the remainder for everything else), maybe a little less, but I had intended to retain as much original material as possible (that may not be the case of the new owner (I heard fiberglass molds may be involved). You could do it inexpensively, but what's the point.

It was located in southern New Jersey but it's on a truck, heading north now.

It is the first PT Boat to use Packard M2500s. Originally a pair of 3M2500s and eventually (before delivery to Canada) 4M2500s. The boat has the original aluminum engine frame in place and the drive lines (including the V-drives) but not the engines (replaced by diesels). I had the 4M2500s and one 3M2500 located and available to the project.

    Here some history:
    https://warhistory.org/@msw/article/george-crouch-pt-1-4

I don't play, but here it is in the War Thunder game:
    https://wiki.warthunder.com/unit/us_pt3

The funny thing is they have the rearward facing torpedoes facing forward 'chasing' the boat in the model. I suspect they fired backward, away from the boat, but I didn't research this.

Here's the original logo as penned by Disney Studios:
