Aprilia NERO with all carbon fiber body, back in 02’ that was only available through the company making moto GP bodywork
Image Unavailable, Please Login thanks —it’s amazing how long a guy can stare at a motorcycle. i don’t have much wall space for pictures but here’s my other two. The work bikes are in the garage and shop.
Some new additions to the collection - Last gen FZR 1000 Exup to sit alongside my first gen FZR 1000 Exup and also a last gen FZR 600 to complete my "Foxeye" Yamaha trio.
Some of my bikes: 2012 Fatboy Lo 2022 Electra Glide Ultra Limited 2003 V-Rod Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Just bought a Honda ADV 350 for my commute, which is mostly country back roads. The handling is very impressive, and point to point it's surprisingly quick. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Image Unavailable, Please Login My Italian collection. '96 Aprilia RS250, '99 Bimota db4, '11 Ducati 848 Evo. I also have a Husqvarna 701 Vitpilen. In the past 2 months, added an 848 track-only bike (so I can eventually have street/track 848s) and an RS250 Cup bike (RS250 imported for a race series around '99-'01 or so) because I obviously need street/track RS250s as well. The RS250 is pretty well built. 2 stroke, 250cc. It has VHM heads, Wiesco pistons, Tyga left-right exhaust, Tyga powervalves, and a Zeeltronic programmable igntion/powervalve controller. Recently tuned on the dyno: 67 at the wheel. Stock would have been 57 or so. 300lbs dry. It's pretty hysterical to rip around on. Last spring, when I pulled out the 848, I wondered if something was wrong with it because it felt slow in comparison. It's not, it's just geared for 70mph in 1st and has a pretty linear powerband.
Since there’s love for V-Rods here, have two - a screaming eagle and one I chopped (added 18 degrees of rake and 10” on the forks) Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Yup - and made the bike nearly unrideable... That much rake REALLY messed up the "trail", so it has a lot of flop... Below about 20mph the bike just WANTS to fall over - above about 40mph it doesn't want to turn! In fact, I can get going about 60 or 70, set the throttle lock, and then lean back and put my crossed feet up on the handlebars. I've done that many times when rolling down the straight interstates here - and people just sheeyat their pants! Anyways, lesson learned - and I haven't made that mistake on my other chopper builds. I'm finishing up a build now with a "Sugar Bear Front End" - has kind of a "foot" on the forks which reduces that flop. Kevin
I think the V-Rod is cool. If only they put it in a decent chassis.... but then, it's Harley, they did their best.
Pic of the yellow one above - is a factory screaming eagle and I was smart enough not to mess that one up. Kevin
Would certainly be possible - if done smartly would be about HALF what I did on the blue V-Rod… But, I don’t chop to then sell - am building my own collection just for myself - and am up to 8 - mostly choppers. Besides the chopped V-Rod, I have a chopped panhead, Evo and Shovel - then the build working on now is a knuckle, to round out the stable. Kevin
Seriously. That motor may be the best motorcycle engine ever made. We'll never know unless someone build a normal frame. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Egli Vincent? Wow. Random: one of the best known Vincent restorers lives up the street from me. I lived here for 20 years before discovering it. A couple years ago, I stopped by a friend's house to pick something up he left in his garage. It was dark but I noticed a motorcycle in the back. Later I mentioned his Honda GB500. "That's an Egli Vincent".
Talk about unrideable. I had this one a few years back and you couldn't even take your hands off of the handlebars. But man it sure did look bad ass!!! Image Unavailable, Please Login
