Got an e-mail from an F chatter about my seats and could not figure out how to send him a picture so I will try this. I had my front seats redone to match the rear which I like very much. We did not use leather. My car is to be completely worn out by me so I do not care about originality. I carried both sets to Driven Fabrication and they made the covers, repaired and rebuilt the foam, redid the seat backs and all for 1200 dollars. I think they are beautiful.

    .

    Wow... they do look nice.

One question... don't you find the black color a bit hot under the sun?

You darn tooten they are hot in the sun. The top on the Mondial is so much a pain to deal with that the top goes down in the spring and goes back up in the fall. The ac was so pitiful that when I changed engines I did not even put the compressor back on the engine. Makes it easier to replace the belts the next time. If it is too hot we take the corvette. Many nice days for the Ferrari though.

With a silver car black is perfect for the interior.

Did they make them more comfortable? I find that Mondial seats are slightly less comfortable than a pile of thumb tacks.

Maybe you are using the wrong thumb tacks?

Fred very nice looking! besides most folks will think they are leather anyway and will last longer

now you can commando in the local watering hole to stay cool and not worry about getting the seats wet!

Comfort and Mondial seats can not be used in the same sentence.

Fred, They look great and sounds like a great price for good looking work.

I must be a strange misshapen person because I think the seats in our cars are great. Maybe y'all need to do several 12 hour days until your backs conform to the seats ;)

I have always found the seat in my Mondial to be narrow and hard, but very supportive. It's not comfortable like a Lazy-Boy or anything, but I don't find myself fatigued from the seat after a long drive the way a lot of other F-Car guys do.

I find if I recline the seat slightly and shift my torso forward slightly, I seem to fit in the seats better. Not one of the Mondial's virtues, and it is not my first choice for any long distance trip, but I still managed a 2 hour trip reasonably well.

    Regards,
    Jerry

I'm with PV Dirk on this one. Having put 60,000 miles on my 1988 1/2 3.2 over the years, I find the seats to be very comfortable. Lateral support, however, is pathetic!
