Shreveport Insurance Agent referral needed

    My sister and her new husband just took jobs in Shreveport. My sister told me what Geico wanted to charge her for auto insurance and I think its way out of line... but I have no idea what the insurance climate is in LA. I want to find them an honest to goodness agent who will look out for them, not a 1800 number.

    Can anyone refer me to a Farmers, Allstate, or State Farm agent who they have dealt with in the Shreveport area? I want to be able to help them and make sure they have a good agent, but since I'm 3 hours away, I can't do a whole helluva lot.

    I'm in Shreveport, but sadly I can't recommend anybody because my guy, a State Farm agent, just died and I'll be looking again soon. For what it's worth, I've found State Farm less expensive than Allstate, and I've heard good things about Farm Bureau from 2 people who actually use them.

    My State Farm agent is Steve Thibeaux. Don't have an F-car yet, bet really good rates on my S2000 and CBR. His number is 318-687-3877. You can talk to either Steve, Kristen, or Marilyn.
