Why not just go to a real Casino? I'm just throwing the idea out. A couple possible scenarios... Leave Friday evening, although that would get us in late. Better might be to meet for lunch (11am) at 635 & 20 and then leave in caravan around Noon. That would put us in Shreveport around 3-4pm. We could check in, start gambling a little, and then have a set reservation for supper. Everyone could leave on their own or together on Sunday. Whatcha think? Jennie and I have something the morning/day of February 26th. However, we could do it on February 12th or 19th.
That would be sweet! My sister lives in Shreveport, and I haven't been able to go see their new place, I would finally have the chance.
Shreveport is my second home, hehe, well the casinos in Shreveport are anyways! I would probably like to join this convoy. Any idea which casino? Might be a little tough having a lot of Ferraris parking under the Porte Cochere, and their ain't no way they will be parked in their garages unless they can rope off a whole section. Details please!
I've only been to the one right over the border (Winstar?), and it only has slots, with that silly progressive bingo thing, and a paramutuel (sp?) parlor.
They passed new legislation last year in OK. All the casinos there will be able to have blackjack and poker. It's taking some ramp-up time though, to get all the tables and plans in place, but it's already legal.
They will still probably be limited to $ 5.00 max bets on the blackjack table like the reservation casinos in Colorado. Boring to me.
I am not familiar with the casinos in OK. Are they on Indian reservations or are they owned by the big boys?
They're Indian casinos. Different tribes have had blackjack in the past, off and on, I never saw a $5 max bet, though. This time the effort is much more concrete with appropriate legilation. No roulette, just blackjack, poker, and Texas Hold'em. Probably be another month or so before they are up and running.
I'm thinking the 19th right now. Any conflicts with that date? Anyone recommend a hotel? Which is the nicest hotel/casino? Jennie and I stayed at one that was nice and then checked out the Isle of Capri or whatever, that looked OK too. I need someone that knows as anything on my part would be a guess. Also, anyone know a restaurant that is easy to access East bound 20 outside the 635 loop? Current List... Rob & Jennie (2)
Feb 19-20 is the East Texas Police Academy Practical Driving Improvement class, Yoshi and Brian and I will be out there that weekend (and maybe others? Still one Fcar spot open I think)
I'm not expecting a huge turnout for Shreveport, but we'll see. Like Las Vegas, Jennie and I can have a good time by ourselves.
The Horseshoe or the Hollywood rank high in my book. I usually stay at the Hollywood since they let me sleep there, eat there, go to shows, etc and it doesn't cost me a cent, so I am a little biased. However, you can't go wrong with either of these two. The others, well I don't frequent them enough to make the call.
I have the 328 scheduled for the 15k, so you can go with us if we don't take it. Otherwise someone should have an open seat Ferrari or otherwise.
