I put the SHELL SPIRAX S5 ATE 75W90 into my 348. While cold shift into second is still there I can downshift into second far easier and I can shift into second long before the gearbox is up to temp. It feels more silky. MUCH better than the Amsoil Severe Gear I was using. Can't say if its better or worse than anything else, I only used 2 so far.
An update what I had been doing to the 355 lately. Recovering the dash, the speedo binnacle. Doing stickies and a few new parts installed. Hopefully to be done with this by April. Great thread, I really enjoy the pictures and seeing a 355 being loved. I think the challenge grill looks great on Rossa Corsa. Breaks up the color in a good way. I cant imagine driving my car any lower in the front, as I scrape a lot.
Great thread! I'm looking to my sticky plastics and sort my leather dashboard as well, are you going to recover or do you think the leather could be reworked? Hello from the UK! First post.
It needs new leather recovering. Basically taking the old ripped leather off and putting new leather on. I haven't heard of anyone reworking the leather.
This is a great thread! Your car sits perfect now. Simple suspension back then now we have to deal with mag ride which i particularly hate. Been looking at 355s and 348s for a while now. I am inspired. Time to learn. subscribed!
Thank you! Yes I try to be helpful and post/share as much as I can. There are lots of other guys who help out as well! 355 community is great!
Shurik355, I find it very interesting that we have similar tastes in vehicles. I likewise have a red 355 with a black interior and a gun metal gray 370Z. Bravo. Have you had much luck selling the 370? I have tried for 2 plus years for mine with no luck. Good luck both are great cars.
More pictures of the progress. At work I repainted my steering wheel cover and gauges in black, and matte clear coat. Came out awesome, love the outcome! Did a few other pieces as well. Striped that nasty sticky coating off, was a challange, but got it Image Unavailable, Please Login Untitled Image Unavailable, Please Login Untitled Image Unavailable, Please Login Untitled Image Unavailable, Please Login Untitled Image Unavailable, Please Login Untitled
Got some parts replaced, and also redone. Got new shifter console, new A/C vents and new climate control cover. The reason why my lights were so dim on the climate control is due to the stickiness of the old panel. Replace it with a new and it's as new. My chrome shifter was so nasty and peeling. Sanded it down with 600 grid, 1500, 3000 and then polished it. Good as new! Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
