    ^^ great picture.

    I always wondered what kind of crane they use to mount the shuttle on top.

    Also, does an extra pilot sit in the shuttle while in flight just in case they have to separate in an emergency?

    Obviously, NASA had more than one 747 built to transport shuttles.

    You can see that one of them only has 2 windows on the second deck and the other has 5 windows up there.
